Tuesday, October 18, 2011 - Roasted sweet potato with chorizo and rocket is inoffensive. It's one of many 'small plates'; we're encouraged to order several, winding up with a bill that could only be welcomed by someone used to paying 500 quid for shoes. But that lamb, with its greasy slick of pistachio pesto, ceremonially deboned at the table until it's corpse cold, is a tragedy. As is seared squid with haricot beans dosed with so much peppercorn that I'm coughing for hours...If you're in the market for copping off with the likes of Spencer or Hugo from Made In Chelsea, this might be your dream ticket.

What a waste of time and money. I will never enter this place again and for sure will tell my friends, my foodie friends about this horrid experience I had at this place. it all started bad with my girlfriends heel getting stuck in the glass catwalk, after being seated it took ages to be asked for drinks and when we got it was a good 15 minutes later. As for the food I have been to Mediterranean restaurants before but not to eat such grub. Bread was old, the soup was of a bad combination and not fit for a restaurant of this class, I will not even review it any longer, I just leave the warning: it is not worth the money. You will do better booking a table at Daphne s just across the road for an exquisite Mediterranean experience.

WHAT A CHANGE!!! I have been coming to The Collection for many years now and I got really excited about the refurbishment (to be honest it needed one:) )

I came here for lunch on Wednesday with couple of my friends. I was pleasantly surprised by how modern yet classy the place looked.

And the interior was not the only thing we were pleasantly surprised by.

The food was lovely. We had Buffalo Tartare, Cured Scallops, Smoked Duck and Chorizo with Sweet potato to start with. For Mains we had Buffalo Burger, Egg Tagliatelle and Baby Chicken with Pomegranate.

A glass of wine and a background music accompanied our food fantastically.

Unfortunately didn't managed to try the dessert as we were full after the starter and the main.

Will definitely come back for lunch and cant wait to try their dinner menu.

Full marks for this newly re-launched restaurant.

Cheese and Biscuits

Cheese and Biscuits - 5/10

Tuesday, October 11, 2011 - Buffalo tartar was my favourite, cleverly hiding a quails egg within, although the accompanying crispbread was way too salty to eat - I scraped off a layer of the stuff so thick I could have seasoned an entire porterhouse with it. Burrata was very good (and very salty too) with more of that (very salty) crispbread, and a scallop carpaccio used good fresh ingredients and looked very pretty on the plate. Quite salty though. Mains were, for various reasons that I think you may have picked up on by now, nearly right. A 250g sirloin steak, of good beef and cooked medium-rare, was so hugely oversalted I had to eat it between desperate gulps of tap water, and the weirdly bland tomato puree didn't do anything for it.
