service slow and unprofressional, venue dated seems like from the 80s

food is good tho, but ridiculous prices for what you get. if you want a good curry, try tooting

I'm from Lahore and eat out frequently when there so felt that I had to try Chilli Chutney. Indeed it was home from home in terms of the excellent food. The ambience however was very much London. This could be improved upon to make the feel a little more strongly Lahore.

We met the owner and she was an excellent host, ensuring we were looked after at all times. The choice of dishes was reasonable but not over-whelming. We had Mozang Chicken for starters. The main course included Tandoori Prawns and all dishes were plentiful. Our waiter brought over hot freshly prepared tandoori roti as and when we were running out. There is simply nothing like hot freshly made tandoori roti to complement Lahori dishes.

What was most pleasing was how well kept and clean the restaurant and toilets are. This reflects the class of the owners and the manager who obviously take pride in what they do.

My friend and I went to Chilli Chutney last weekend. The place was busy but being so huge still had a few empty tables which did not bother us. We had Mozang chicken and Kebabs for starters followed by Prawns, Chicken Jalfrezi, Pilao rice and Peshawari nan. The curries here are different from what we have eaten at typical Indian. This is truly original where you can taste the spices individually. Surely the chefs know what they are doing.

Open kitchen gave us the reassurance of cleanliness where we could see our food being prepared.

We were happy with our choice of drinks and had gajar halwa (dessert) to finish off the meal. We had a great evening and the best thing was the relaxed, prompt and extremey helpful service by the waiter who couldn't do enough for us.

We also noticed the constant stream of takeaway customers and the restaurant phone ringing non stop for orders.

We will recommend Chilli Chutney to anyone - go and get spoilt, you will love it.

Myself and three other diners visited this restaurant on Saturday night last. We were booked in for 8pm without any trouble.

The restaurant was not particularly busy - there were a handful of other couples dining and one large group of about 20 people. However, to our disgust, our starters took over an hour to arrive and when they did eventually materialise, they were accompanied on the same plate by our main courses! From the comments made by the large group as they were leaving, they had clearly received a similar level of extremely slow service and were making sure that other diners were made aware of their frustration.

Saying that, the food was good when it did finally arrive although the mango ice cream ordered as a dessert consisted of a solitary scoop of ice cream, which was on the mean side.

The restaurant was presentable and the booth seats were comfy. What a shame about the extremely poor service.

Unfortunately, this is not a restaurant to which I would recommend others.

I went to this restaurant on 19 Jan 2008. Not being from Stretham or South London in fact, I had reservations about going there, being on the high road, however, it is my partners favourite Indian place in the area so we went, and the rest as they say is history.

But this is good history.

When is the last time you went to a restaurant and the owner spoke to you. I am sure this does not happen in a Gordon Ramsey establishment unless you happen to be famous.

The food, lets just say, I had to unbutton my top trouser button as I was full.

Service, was great and friendly.

Most definitely value for money.

The atmosphere, all I can say it was nice to sit down and chill and have a conversation without loud background noise.

This place needs to be discovered so tell you friends.

Oh there is one let down and that is I live in Wembley, some 45 mins to 1 hour away from what is a very good place.

Enjoy

Congratulations Chilli Chutney for opening a new take away unit at Allders Croydon. I am sooo glad that we can get the halal Indian in the Croydon shopping centre which is the only one. I am a regular at Streatham and look forward to becoming a regular at lunchtimes at Croydon. Please maintain the standards for the curries. I visited Chilli Chutney at Allders and loved the Chicken Jalfrezi with Biryani Rice for £3.50 - great price. Mango lassis are a must at Coydon branch.

Well done!

We went to Chilli Chutney for a meal and had a wonderful experience.

I had lamb Bhuna and my partner had the Sizzling grill, the chefs really know what they are doing. The meat was juicy and tender with all the flavourings soaked right in. Their new wine menu had some unusual wines at affordable prices. We were looked after very well and will definitely recommend. We found the portions served to be very generous and as a result of our experience we are also planning to book a party in January.

I have been visiting Chilli Chutney since its doors opened three and a half years ago. The food has always been freshly prepared and excellent. When coupled with the ambience and professional management, Chilli Chutney provides superb value for money.

Overpriced in all areas, service is ok and the food is good but if you are going to charge so much at least make your portions a little larger!
