A restaurant with the rare combination of being outstanding without a fussy menu or a stuffy atmosphere. The set menu is fantastic value - £29 for 4 cousres even for dinner. Simple dishes cooked to perfection. Only fault was that the wine list was quite limited.

Lovely intimate restaurant in a busy part of town ! The pasta was particularly beautiful, al dente, the way it should be. The chocolate and almond tart was huge and rather rich but appropriately offset with the pistachio ice cream. Service was attentive but not pushy and we able to have a private conversation without fear of eavedropping. Would recommend this establishment to aficionados of Italian food.

Decided on organising a dinner out with a few friends to Camerino as we saw the really good reviews on the web. Service was excellent and friendly, and the set menu is quite generous (by London standards, anyway!). Even a big appetite will be sated. Food was good, although not amazing. Pasta was cooked al dente perfectly, and the quality of the pasta itself was very good although the sauces were a bit too oily. The wine list is too pricey. I recommend this restaurant to those who would like a night out with decent food and very good service, and although I'd like it if I went there again, I wouldn't go out of my way.

My wife and I recently celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary, and dined at the Camerino restaurant last Tuesday evening.

We did not advise them that this was a special event, and we booked a table for 3 for 8:00pm.

The restaurant being fairly small was probably 3/4 quarters full, but this did not negatively impact on anything.

The setting, the service, ambience and food were all excellent, and we had a wonderful meal and experience.

The only 2 minor downsides were that the wine was slightly on the pricey side, and that they allowed smoking, which in such a cosy restaurant could be offputting.

Overall an evening to remember, especially when celbrating a special event.

Took my wife to Camerino for our anniversary dinner. We had been there once before and vowed to return. So, return we did. I am glad that we did so. The staff there are exceptionally friendly and efficient. You are not made to feel over-awed. The young Italian lady who served us was very knowledgable about the food and wine. First of all came an amuse bouche which was a nice touch, and a bread basket with quite obviously home made bread, served with a dish of olive oil and balsamic. Scrumptious! My wife had scallops for starter. No weedy portion was this, the plate was bursting with melt in the mouth clouds of flavour in a saffron sauce. My thinly sliced veal tongue was accompanied by sweet & spicy mustard fruits, unusual & quite lovely! For mains, wife had calfs liver whilst I had a thick and round piece of scottish beef. Both dishes accompanied by small roast pots and green beans. I could have cut the steak with a lolly stick it was so tender. As for the flavour? It had obviously been well matured and was the best bit of meat I had had for a long while. The liver was delicately tasty too. Portions were more than adequate. We just about had room for puddings which were accompanied by home made sorbet. Excellent atmosphere, great wine and good coffee. This is going to be one of our regulars....not just for special occasions. The bill came to £126, and I tell you what, I didn't blink an eye because we had a damn good evening!

Taking clients for lunch I rely heavily on reviews. If this resteurant ever had a poor review there must be something amiss. Having eaten out extensively worldwide and over many years I know a good thing when I eat in it and Camerinos is extremely good.

They were warmly welcoming but not obsequious, the service prompt and knowledgably helpful yet impartial, the atmospere was light and airy though simple and the room is comfortable and spacous. The wine list is extensive and the food a complete delight. The set menu is reasonable at £29 for three courses though I doubt if anyone could resist the main menu. This at £10 a starter, £12.50 for pasta and £19-22 for mains is certainly not cheap but you quickly realise that the value is not in question. We shared the 2nd (pasta) course as the full 3 courses would have been excessive. A buttery agnolotti with beetroot and ricotta followed by exquisite calves liver in raisins and pine nuts for me and baked cod for my friend; truly delicious.
