I eat at la figa regularly......i love it, it is my favorite place to eat, the Pollo la figa is to die for.... and the best roast potatoes i have ever had.
Love this place, used to always go il bordello until i found this one.
cant understand how anyone cannot like it.

We enjoyed a wonderfully delicious dinner while visiting London. Food was exceptional and portions large. Although wait staff was initially unsure of our questions they ended up providing the perfect amount of hospitality and friendliness.

I wish this restaurant was still a best kept secret but the word is out. It is a warm family run Italian with great food, generous portions and a laid back environment that has not compromised on its excellent service. It is popular with families so if you are allergic to children or other people having a great time then this may not be your cup of tea. Dressy young couples on dates-tick. Businessman working the expense account-tick. Mummies and Daddies frumpy and grumpy or yummy-tick. Dress up or down you'll fit in. Modern decor but spacious and the chairs are comfortable (unlike it's sister Il Bordello in Wapping). Good parking availability and near DLR. Wheelchair accessible. They quickly get to know you and your likes and dislikes and Chef has always been very accommodating about little changes. They don't include service in the bill ! They currently do take-away and i'll be in heaven if they ever start delivery as well. The Fillet Dolcelatte is a wonderful way to clot the arteries and not care. The pizzas are so good you will eat the crusts too. The pasta is always perfectly al dante and smothered in sauce. Try the linguine sea scallops in aurora sauce- gorgeous. But leave the spaghetti meatballs for me!

I'm a regular customer now at La Figa, 2-3 visits a month at least. The whole experience is terrific from the warm welcom right through the bill, always very good value. My only negative comment might be about the lack or change on the menu, but I do eat there regularly so it might be more about me!

Had an awful meal at La Figa yesterday, I'm Italian so I know how good Italian food should taste like. Also, I was offended by the rude name, it's not funny and it's not clever.

it is very unfortunate having a negative experience in any restaurant however, sometimes its best to avaluate the food and service over different periods to see if the place is worthed visiting again. i've never had a bad meal either at La Figa or Il Bordello, and the service in both places always been of the utmost standarts.

It takes an awful lot for me to go as far as saying I will "never go back there again".
Although never offended by staff who want to make banter, I must say the staff at La Figa are just plain RUDE and obnoxious. I was requested to say "Thank you" to a waiter for bringing a glass of water. He actually stood and agreesively insisted.
It is obvious why this restaurant does not fill its tables (never seen more than 30-40% tables occupied).
Food is okay but certainly not good value for money, and it always takes to long, which is odd as there as so many kitchen staff.

I am Italian and love to cook and eat out. This is not how Italian food should taste like. The place looks cheap and although the staff is very friendly and kind it is not worth a second visit. Pizza is awful, they must use ready-to-use frozen dough or the cook is clueless and in any event they don't have a forno a legna but electric ovens only. Fish is far from fresh, doesn't taste bad, but clearly frozen so not much taste unless you use butter or oil on it. Carpaccio is dry and parmiggiano is the kind of thick salty version they use in cheap restauant instead of the original one. Pasta is over cooked, like in the majority of Italian restaurants in the UK, but since I asked for it al dente to an Italian waiter I was hoping to at least not have it as soft as mashed potato...the Italian veetable antipasti tasted like any tinned grilled vegetables you could buy in stores...the prosecco is good though, and the grilled (this time fresh) vegetables were indeed fresh :-)

This is a great place; we used it recently on a Friday evening; we didn't book so we sat at the bar and the service was great. The drinks were great, especially the margaritas, the bar staff really looked after us. The atmosphere was buzzy and the food was plentiful and excellent. The place has a real feel good factor is an excellent place the chill at the end of a hectic week.
