Been there for a large party as the original sister venue, Il Bordello, could not accomodate 40 people.

Used to Il Bordello food and service, we were not disapointed despite guests running late, several children to care about.

We were perfectly looked after, the food was all up to expectations from the pastas to the pizza and meat and fish courses

A couple of steaks were slightly overdone, replaced by correctly cooked ones and a couple of glasses of wine.

Highly recommended as an excellent place to eat nice, plain italian food. Still, irrationally, prefering Il Bordello thought...

Clearly this restaurant as doing something right, as it was very busy when we visited last night and the reviews on this site are very favourable.

However, it is by far the worst meal I have had in London with no apparent redeeming features. The menu is so vast that one has to question how much is pre-prepared. We ordered the rocket salad with grilled prawns - the rocket was delicious and fresh but the prawns were sub-Asda. For mains we had an acceptable bacon, onion and tomato pasta and a lasagne that managed to be completely devoid of flavour. The profiteroles were too poor to review.

The decor is 80's City boy, with chrome and black leather chairs. It is a neighbourhood restaurant that clearly knows its market but everyone else should be advised to stay away.

A group of 7 (6 girls & myself) went on Friday 16th November for a meal to celebrate my daughter's 21st Birthday. We were seated quite promptly, but 2 of our party of 7 were over an hour late and consequently we seemed to be ignored for quite a while by the waiting staff. We eventually ordered some starters and drinks until the latecomers arrived. Generally the ambience and atmosphere was good and the place was buzzing. We even spotted Mathew Parris, well known in political/media circles. The food was of very good quality and decent portions too. The waiting staff were clearly very busy and the service was generally shambolic, with food arriving from the kitchens with the waiting staff not really knowing to which table it was intended !. Our waiter was a bit of a character who, to my amusement , revelled in kissing my daughter and my partner on the forehead a number of times. When I paid, they took my card away from the table to process it, which I didn't like. Our bill came to £163, we were charged £5.25 for an unordered Tiramisu with a candle which no-one ate, but we were not charged for 2 beers. We also paid £2.66 each for 9 soft drinks which is typically outrageous London prices. Generally a good time was had, but I think allocating fewer tables to each waiter would help, particularly at busy times.

hi all -

the best italian in london - fabulous atmosphere - friendly staff - super service and very "crazy" italian behaviour with lots of joking and funny comments both between the staff but also guests!

food absolute excellent - freshly made - i simply love their steak - the best meet in town!!! try the just grilled steak with a bit of salad and french fries - (home made) cant be found better anywhere!!!! seriously i mean it!!!

i visit "la figa" minimum once a week - never had any problems nor any complaints and even they are getting more and more busy - always able to get a table.

please try the bar - fantastic bar crew - you can get any drink you can think of - very proff staff!!!

thanks to all staff in "la figa" - keep it up.

We were there last night and it was really busy. The food was very good and we had no gripes with the service. If it wasn't on the other side of London we'd definetely go back

Depite the lovely location, decor and promising looking menu, our experience of La Figa was so awful that we walked out after our first course. Our waiter was gruff and unwelcoming from the start (ok that can be London for you) and despite it being very early in the evening and still quiet in the restaurant we were starting to feel rushed. We were hungry so ordered some bruschetta before we made up our minds about the main course. I don't know if the waiter took exception to this as he interupted us whilst we were still eating to ask our order for the main course. We felt obviously rushed by this, and naturally 'put out' (not what you would expect from any restaurant, least of all one with a good reputation for service) - but we politely requested a little more time. It was after this that things really went downhill: in the course of the next 45 minutes, NOT ONE member of staff approached us to take our order despite our menus being on the table and it being clear we were ready to order the next course. We waited such an unnaturally long time that it was patently obvious to us we were being ignored. Clearly this was going to spoil an evening with a friend whom I had not seen for a long time, and so we cut our losses, left what money we owed and left. All credit to the owner who apologised as we left but he was let down by one very rude member of staff. Ours was a very bad experience which made us two women feel extremely uncomfortable on what should have been a pleasant evening. Personally, I would say if you are choosing a restaurant and want guarantee of good service, I would definitely not recommend La Figa.

I've been to this restaurant quite a few times since I moved to Limehouse and I have to say it gets better every time. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great! I would highly recommend it!

I have eaten here twice now and on both occasions the food was excellent, the portions are large and the service was very good. Prices are also pretty reasonable. One of the best resaurants in the area
