your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne

ate there last weekend and it was fantastic. Friendly staff, great location and reasonably priced. I had the bruschetta followed by porcini ravioli, the starter was huge and very fresh while the pasta was the best I have eaten in ages. My partner had salmon, avocado, prawn starter followed by a huge pizza, again both very nice. The drinks were reasonably priced, we had some great prosecco followed by a bottle of Frascati. The restaurant was packed so advisable to book at the weekend. No issues ref staff/water or anything else - We will definately go back, well worth the treck (for us) down to limehouse.

It takes an awful lot for me to go as far as saying I will "never go back there again".

Although never offended by staff who want to make banter, I must say the staff at La Figa are just plain RUDE and obnoxious. I was requested to say "Thank you" to a waiter for bringing a glass of water. He actually stood and agreesively insisted.

It is obvious why this restaurant does not fill its tables (never seen more than 30-40% tables occupied).

Food is okay but certainly not good value for money, and it always takes to long, which is odd as there as so many kitchen staff.

I am Italian and love to cook and eat out. This is not how Italian food should taste like. The place looks cheap and although the staff is very friendly and kind it is not worth a second visit. Pizza is awful, they must use ready-to-use frozen dough or the cook is clueless and in any event they don't have a forno a legna but electric ovens only. Fish is far from fresh, doesn't taste bad, but clearly frozen so not much taste unless you use butter or oil on it. Carpaccio is dry and parmiggiano is the kind of thick salty version they use in cheap restauant instead of the original one. Pasta is over cooked, like in the majority of Italian restaurants in the UK, but since I asked for it al dente to an Italian waiter I was hoping to at least not have it as soft as mashed potato...the Italian veetable antipasti tasted like any tinned grilled vegetables you could buy in stores...the prosecco is good though, and the grilled (this time fresh) vegetables were indeed fresh :-)

This is a great place; we used it recently on a Friday evening; we didn't book so we sat at the bar and the service was great. The drinks were great, especially the margaritas, the bar staff really looked after us. The atmosphere was buzzy and the food was plentiful and excellent. The place has a real feel good factor is an excellent place the chill at the end of a hectic week.

the food could be considered nice for someone who isn't too interested in what her/he eats, but definitely NOT ITALIAN cuisine. The good thing was that someone could exaggerate their eating habit though excessive and overpriced potions.

A friend took us out for "a pizza" at La Figa. Wow what a surprise we got. Great service from the moment we stepped inside the door, and the food! Massive portions all round. I had their shanks od lamb and got two whole shanks, beatifully cooked and tasting delicious. My wife's pizza was similarly delicious. The desert was fantastic, the wine spot on, and the coffee to round it off was just right. Yes, we will be heading back to La Figa, and I will recommend it to anyone.

Went here the other week for a friend's big birthday do. The portions are gigantic that you'd struggle to fit it 3 courses. The food is excellent, especially their main course, the pasta had a lovely texture and my veal t-bone was very moist and tender. Their monkfish was also highly recommended along with their ravioli.

Personally I like the decor and atmosphere in the restaurant, it's modern, spacious and relaxing yet serves some good traditional Italian food. If I wanted the more traditional Italian atmosphere, I'll try the sister restaurant in Wapping (at some point). Staff were very friendly and helpful, letting us drink at the bar first before the birthday girl turned up, and even joined in some of the fun we were having with a few questionable 'party tricks'!!

All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable night out, the birthday girl was very happy. Not the cheapest of places but good for a group special occasions (Alot of people were having birthday dos that night).

I went here last week with some colleagues from work. I have never been to a place that serves such huge portions. Had the lamb shank which had 2 very large pieces of meat which actually comprised of flesh rather than fat. The tiramisu was delicious and like every other dish substantial. Even the coffee came in a very large cup ! My only gripe was that it was a little pricey. This of course begs the question could you not shave off a couple of quid for more manageable portions ? Would highly recommend this place but make sure you go on a very empty stomach.
