The Churchfield Pub & Dining Room

Overall I think it's a bit of a find. Food was first rate - really seasonal & well presented. I always love it when I don't know what to have! Downside was the service - on the night I went it was jam packed - everyone seemed to turn up at once! Well intentioned waiting staff were too rushed to spend any time and food took awhile Will def go again tho... Great deal.

Got taken here recently by friends who live locally. Had a very good meal,cod and puy lentils, sounds simple but it was done really well - earthy, autumnal flavours - yum!Friendly service and a good wine list made for a relaxed evening.

I really must go back and try out their huge range of belgian beers too!

Don't know why it took me so long to go. I had a really great night there. Food, service and atmosphere all brilliant. The dining room is upstairs with lots of oak furniture - a bit boho but comfy. Our meal was great really tasty - i had a king prawn & shitake thing for starter - terrific earthy flavours. A steak followed - which is bought in from Glen Fyne in Scotland - it was really well flavoured, ribeye doesn't get better. Puds from a short list hit the spot! The waitress suggested a Rioja - which was terrific. It was busy but the service was well paced and charming. Will return soon****

I went to The Churcfield last night for a meal with friends - they do an early dining fixed price menu if you go before 8pm. I have to say I was really impressed - the food and service were outstanding. The waitress was charming, knowledgable and recommended wine for our food really well - a rarity these days! Before this I'd only eaten in the bar - and had the organic burger - which is LOVELY! Will be back there soon and recommend it to all.
