The Nelson

I run a monthly vocal jazz event, Singers' Night, at The Nelson on the second Tuesday evening of each month. Although I don't often have time to eat, many of the singers have a meal and the food always looks well presented and delicious and gets lots of compliments. I have been known to steal a chip or two during the evening. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the venue is stylish and always well kept. The location is very convenient yet is also a bit of a secret.

I recommend The Nelson, particularly on second Tuesdays!

Excellent service, good food, reasonable prices and easy to get to from lots of stations. Recently refurbished and round tables available. Recommend highly.

Have been to this restaurant several times. Have always found the staff very attentive except for times when there appeared to be a leaving do. The food was always delicious and the price very reasonable. Will definitely recommend to friends. I have seen a bad review and am surprised - must have been when their head chef was off on sick leave. My friends who have been there also say that they enjoyed the food.

It's not great. It's a meat-and-two-veg place with Italian names on the dishes. A bit of acoustic damping would help a lot. But it's cheap and the service was quick and helpful.

My wife and i went for dinner and drinks to celebrate her birthday, the nelson was a great choice, the staff were very attentive and the food was delicious.

Absolutely terrible, expected better but very disappointed. Took my gf for a meal and the food took over 90 minutes to arrive despite being empty, service was terrible.

Don't recommend to anyone, go to the pub round the corner much better atmosphere and service.

We ate at Nelson on a Tuesday evening which did make it quite quiet but the food was excellent, and good value, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I would definitely visit again for some quality Italian food.
