your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne

we came here one saturday early evening, the place was very empty so there was not much atmosphere.

the service was ok but not great and one in our party had to wait about an extra 5-10 minutes for his main. starters are very expensive for what they are. food was ok and reasonably priced but i have been to LOADS of cheap thai restaurants and you can get better quality food for the price.

it's also annoying that they only take cash and you have to go to the bar yourself to order drinks.

would try and avoid going back

Food's great, atmosphere is great, decor is retro without trying too hard. One of the friendliest pubs around and highly recommended! Tuesday's are particularly good.. Half a rack of ribs or an 8oz rump steak served with chunky chips for £6.99 and a couple of very capable Djs.

Wow. This pub has become a complete disappointment. The decor looks like a drag queen exploded, but I could probably live with that if it weren't for the angry, surly staff. I've never been treated so rudely in my life! Expect to wait ages for food, and don't even dream of having dishes come out together. Had a leaving lunch for a friend there and the food of the guest of honour took almost an hour, while the rest of us received it in about thirty minutes. We raised this with the restaurant. When we complained (very nicely, as we had been regulars) we didn't even receive an apology- it was our fault for ordering the wrong mix of items, apparently. The remaining food was finally served, garnished with bitterness, a side of hate, and drizzled with surliness. It's a shame because the owners, whom we've met, are really very nice and I'm sure they'd be disappointed to know good customers are so poorly treated. Sadly they're rarely there. Until things improve, avoid this pub as if it were the ebola virus.

We were there last Sunday night for a quick dinner. The wait was about a half hour considering it was not very full. One of us had the burger which was very tasty as was the side of potato wedges. The other two of us had the Sunday roast of beef which was overcooked and very dry. The roast potatoes were also overcooked and one of them was burnt black! I would return but not to have the roast.

If you want to wait an hour for your food and be served by sullen faced staff then this is the place to go! for drinks this place is fine, if you again still want to be served by sullen faced bar staff.

I live local and after being served raw beef burgers (after an hour of waiting) and then being told "that's how they are cooked" I will not be going there again.

it also seems to take 45 minutes to cook a bowl of chips - ridiculous

I can't rate this pub highly enough! Great for a mid week treat, to line the stomach on a Friday night, after a hard day shopping on a Saturday or to cure a Sunday hangover (or just for a good sunday lunch) The burgers are fab - great selection - with a heavenly welsh rarebit & bacon one and the main menu changes often enough to keep it fresh and interesting. Enough of a gastro pub to ensure a good menu - but a proper pub, with proper food!

We live just round the corner from this great place and love it!

The burgers are a must-have, along with great puddings.

Atmosphere is friendly, upbeat and the decor is really quirky!

The burgers here are second to none. Nice pub but a tad on the pricey side.
