Table for 9 - booked well in advance for 8pm on a Thursday night. We arrived on time were greeted and seated - the restaurant was not full but rooms were booked.
An enjoyable evening was had but with little help from Drones - good company was required. We waited 2 hours for food to appear. Half way through the wait we were informed there was no lobster (although we might be able to scrap enough together for the spaghetti - no thanks!). When the meals arrived (warm at best) there was disarray - after some minutes we eventually had all meals with appropriate sides.
On paper the menu and wine list look to provide for an excellent evening - on top of this the venue is beautifully presented. Unfortunately everything was done to let themselves down. Very disappointing - would not recommend or return.

We were a party of 10 people for dinner and we all had a fantastic time. Drones lived up to its good reputation. I found that the food was unpretentious, and of excellent quality.
The starters were delicious but I felt that better value for money was to be found in the main courses and on the dessert menu. The fillet steak with fois gras was pricey but the size of the portion was extraordinary and turned out to be great value for money.
The service was spot on and the waiting staff coped well with the several babies and children in our party.
Overall a surprisingly enjoyable restaurant with decent food quality and generous portions to match the usual high prices that a restaurant of this calibre requires. An instant addition to my 'favourites' list.

Well what can I say except that I didn't enjoy my meal at all because there didn't seem to be any air conditioning clearing the polluted air. I was subject to heavy cigarette smoke throughout the entire evening. Added to that the food was very mediocre and the service even worse. My friend I was having the meal with had to keep asking for a drink as so did I. Very dissappointing and we wont be returning.

Where do I start! Table for 4 booked for 20.30 by 22.15 all we had had was our starters and a stale bread roll each. When our main courses eventually arrived mine was luke warm and the side orders of vegatables cold. By the time it was reheated my companions had finishd theirs (without the veg) and my medium steak was dry and overcooked. The reason for this farse was blamed on the kitchen and the fact they had a private function down stairs. We refused to pay for anything other than the wine and to add insult to injury they still put service charge on this which we refused to pay. Maybe this was a one off, but I just wouldnt take the risk again. The table next to us walked out after 30 mins after not even receiving their drinks!

Contrary to a review below, I believe that Sunday lunch at the Drones is an absolute revelation. Its a fixed menu at 22 pounds and is just PROPER. I tend to always have the roast beef but have experimented with a few other things here and there. Never been disappointed and at this point I have made a tradition of going every Sunday with a group of friends. Excellent value for money and simply divine.
As a normal restaurant (for lunch or dinner), I am large fan of the Drones as well. Service is always perfect, respectful and kind. I have yet to have a dish I did not enjoy. A few times it has struck me as a bit stuffy/snooty during dinner but that is not the fault of the restaurant - more a side factor of being in Belgravia.

Ate at Drones last week with a group of friends. All I can say is the meal, wine and service were fantastic. Loved everything about this restaurant and would highly recommend it to anyone. Rather up market and you should dress accordingly but it is worth the effort. Cannot fault it. Will certainly return when I am in London next.

I adore Drones, its absolutely my favourite restaurant in London. Very grown-up, but so elegant and I've never had a disappointing meal there. The menu is scaled down a little from a few years ago and sadly they seem to have dropped their Lobster Spaghettini, but that's a small quibble.

What a fantastic restaurant!! I booked for my girlfriend and I to come for dinner with another couple and we really had the most wonderful evening. I was particularly worried about coming after several bad experiences with restaurants recently.
However this was great food, simple but delicious - and the staff are just attentive enough but not enough that it becomes annoying! The General Manager, a chap called Khaled is particularly charming and really looked after us well and also made some great wine recommendations.
Thanks for a great evening!!
