Sabor

We hired Sabor for our wedding lunch for 22 people in May 2011 and really could not recommend it enough for any occasion. The team accommodated every request we made, they took time and trouble to ensure that our menu was perfect and looked after us in an exemplary fashion. On the day itself the restaurant looked fantastic and all the waiting staff were kindness itself. Most importantly all the food we ordered was incredible - canapes, starters, main courses (Rib eye of beef and great Ceviche) and desserts. All of our guests have spoken to us praising the quality of the food and wines and several are planning to go back.

I am making an effort to review the places I like, rather than use this as a complaint forum!

Well, the food here was amazing. We had a brilliant starter: ceviche mixto and home made chorizos. Followed by speciality humita a corn dumpling with vegetables and a couple of desserts. Loved it all.

The poundage compared to the quality is pretty good where the bill came to £75 after a few cocktails, wine and coffees.

This place, however, tantalized my taste buds.

I booked this restaurant last minute to take advantage of the 25% discount offer.

Considering the prices I wasn't expecting culinary miracles if I'm honest but I must say the food was absolutely spectacular. It was well presented. The portion sizes were just about right. Extra marks were definitely received when the waiter offered bread to us and we declined as my friend is allergic to wheat. Then, accompanying the starter the waiter brought several corn bread pancakes which the chef had prepared in the kitchen specially for us. The service was friendly and not too imposing. The restaurant was surprisingly busy for mid-week but I still felt well attended to.

I booked to come here for my boyfriend's birthday. It was Tuesday evening so was not busy. The location was lovely. Nice music, very friendly staff, rare these days in islington!!!!!!!.

Now to the food. Very good. Empanadas nice and spicy, Ceviches very nice so we ordered two, chorizo was good. The moqueca was top. The food was fresh and obviously cooked to order.

The waitress was very pleasant and accomodating. We will definitely go back

My GF and I came to Sabor for Valentines day 2011. We found it to be a pleasant little place with trendy looking decor and smartly dressed staff.

The red wine was good, full of flavour and went well with our rib eyed steaks.

The food was nice on the whole, though it wasn't really anything to write home about. My steak had too much salt put into the sauce. Also I asked for medium-rare and I got medium. Tasty enough though.

Also the deserts were quite a let down, the chocolate sponge cake was quite tough and the other deserts were unremarkable at most.

The starter was very nice, duck steak.

A pleasant experience but I won't be back in a hurry.

Boil in a bag bad. Tasteless, bland and expensive. Even a foolproof 'green salad' was inedible - only one of two side dishes ordered which eventually arrived after asking, it comprised limp lettuce dressed with water. Just as well we weren't given opportunity to consider pudding or coffee - the bill was unceremoniously dumped on our table by the waiter (manager as it turned out). Without asking us if we wanted anything else, never mind if we wanted the bill. He managed to remove the discretionary 12.5% service charge and promise us a free cocktail on our next visit. No thanks - we'd rather boil food in a bag at home.

This is a great restaurant to visit . The food is delicious and the service is top notch. This was the second restaurant I visited since arriving in London and the manager was very helpful with any questions I had regarding the food, places to visit . The rest of the staff is also very friendly and would converse with me as I usually dine by myself. I have sampled most of the menu and my favorite dish has got to be rabbit. The ambiance is very nice and romantic It is a great place to take a date.

Last Wednesday 10th November. The bar was naturally really busy, so service there was sometimes a bit slow, but apart from that the whole experiance was excellent. The staff couldn't do enough to please us and were extremely attentive. We were shown to our table at 8.30pm as booked and went on to have a really scrummy meal. I can recommend the ceviches, empanadas and a seabream stuffed with chorizo. The bill was reasonable too so all in all a good night out, nice miusic too.

What a ghastly experience!

After reading the reviews and looking immensely forward to an evening out with good friends and scrumptious food, I was extremely shocked. Right from the beginning the whole experience was something I would rather not remember in a hurry.

The restaurant could not find our booking, the waiter was rude, we were served the wrong wine and the food was appalling. When we complained, the manager (or owner - who knows) shouted at us and worked himself in to such a frenzy he expressed 'humiliation' and kicked us out, after dumping the bill on our table. We were given no chance to explain our disappointments. I have never been treated this badly in a restaurant.

They clearly did not want to listen to critique. Well I'll give it now; their food was sub-standard, a starter of sweet corn fritters which was like dough and a tough, grizzly, fatty piece of rib-eye and most certainly NOT cheap, shoddy service and arrogant staff.

All I can say is don't even bother trying with this restaurant, it's a complete disappointment.

An excellent local restaurant. We had lunch at the weekend and ordered from the special lunch menu - 2 courses for £15.00. It was great value. We chose quesadillas and ceviche for starters a peruvian chicken and the brazilian stew and was delicious. You could tell each one was freshly made with care. I loved the service and decor. Will definitely be back.
