My family and i Recently visited Sabor to see what all the hype was about. Definitely worth the trip to North London. Off the beating path, away from upper street, actually located in the quite part of essex road.

The Service was impeccable, food was exceptional, wine good on chile and Argentinean wines, cocktails were good, try the mora (a type of blackberry) caipirinha.

It was good that we visited on a wednesday night, the attention to the detail was very impressive, and the ambience was truly latin atmosphere! The manager look after us, he recommended a really good quality-price wine and also played good music.

I recommend it widely

This is a poor quality restaurant masquerading as a fine dining establishment,

The food was of poor quality which made the extortionate amount they were charging extremely difficult to justify, also they get quite nasty (aggressive) when you refuse to pay the 10% service charge and make it quite clear that you are not ever welcome in the restaurant if you do not pay the charge.

Overall, BAD food, BAD service, OVERPRICED and a confused restaurant.

Nice staff. Food was superb. We had the 3 courses for £17.50 and loved the salt fish croquettes, fish stew & ice cream. Great list of South American cocktails too. Will be back to this cute local restaurant.

I love this restaurant ... We have been going here since early 20005 . The food is great the atmosphere is brilliant and the service is great. The best thing about it is that it welcomes children. Unfortunately in london a lot of places do not welcome children but not here.

I decided to take my parents, who were visiting, out for a great meal on Saturday night. I'd heard fab things about Sabor and it sounded like the ideal place to soak up some London atmosphere. I couldn't have been more wrong.

The service was appalling – it took 25 minutes for drinks to arrive then we were hassled to keep ordering more. Our food order was wrong in several ways, serving us more expensive dishes than we ordered, for example the £19.50 fillet steak instead of the requested rib-eye.

The starters had been tasty so we were looking forward to the mains. Although after an hour and fifteen minutes we were beginning to wish we hadn’t bothered. When it eventually came my husband’s was inedible, my mother's fish stew was adequate at best, and the expensive fillet hardly worthy of a greasy pub menu - all of it was luke-warm.

My husband's food was taken off the bill and he was offered an alternative but his appetite had failed by then. The manager was gracious in his apology but seemed to lose sympathy when I pointed out the other mistakes on the bill.

I left feeling like I had endured the worst meal I can remember eating in London, was severely disappointed and with a significantly lighter bank balance. In credit crunch times one expects good food and good value. This was neither.

My boyfriend and I visited Sabor on Saturday and came away sharing the opinion that we would recommend it to everyone we knew!

As we had theatre tickets booked for 7:30pm, we booked a table for 4:30 (a strange time to eat i know, but i was glad i'd starved myself til then by the time i waddled back to Angel). Within 5 minutes of being seated the restaurant was empty bar us and as such, the service throughout our meal was second to none.

We ate from the set menu and enjoyed a wonderful 3 course meal for just £17.50 per head, an absolute bargain and helpful, as i don't think we could have decided should we have chosen from the full list!

We began with cocktails; I chose the Ammaretto Sour, which was incredible and the by the way my Boyfriend's eyes lit up, i think i can say the same for the Passionfruit Daquiri.

My chicken skewer starter was overshadowed by the incredible potato it was served with - one of the most incredible flavours and textures i have experienced!

The sweetcorn fritters with advocado and lime were just as appealing and we were both a little upset when we'd finished!

Main courses were of a large size and just as favoursome and exciting as the starters. The seafood stew is a must for anyone who loves fish and the Gold Mayan saffron mash lived up to it's name!

We finished with a rather indulgent cheesecake and a mango sorbet, which in all honestly, was gluttonous but worth it!

Each course was served at just the right time; no waiting around, but with ample time to get your breathe back and make room for the next!

If you are considering eating here, stop thinking and book a table; you won't regret it!

Had a great night out here recently, the two standout points being the cocktails and service.

Decent food too with ample choice for vegetarians, we found the portions were good sizes too and the mango with chilli dessert especially yummy

overall a great place to go with friends and to make a night of it.

The only drawback was that the shape of the room is long and thin so you do feel a bit like being in a latino themed train carriage!

had heard alot of good things about this place, including attentive staff, great food and a fantastic atmosphere,so couldn't wait for my visit. Was very disappointed, the potions were so small I was thinking about what takeaway to buy on the way home.My boyfriend ordered the ribeye, was told they had sold out,ok,that's fine,it happens so decided on the fillet steak. This was the worst fillet steak I have ever seen or tasted, full of fat and gristle, and at £19.50,I found it totally unacceptable,We asked to speak the the manager and after a 15 minute wait she arrived at our table. My boyfriend attemped to eat what he could, but eventually had to give up!! So bad!! The manager was very dismissive,I felt like we were a huge inconvenience to her,she even had the cheek to say he probably couldn't eat it because he wasn't hungry!! I refused to pay for the steak, she shugged and walked away. The bill arrived minus the steak, but with no mention of the cost being deducted...yes the cocktails were great, but this could no way make up for the rest of the meal.would never return..even if my life depended on it......oh,yes,and my sea bream was burnt, dry and the lentils it came with were not cooked.....do not visit here!!!

love this restaurant ... We have been going here since early 20005 . The food is great the atmosphere is brilliant and the service is great. The best thing about it is that it welcomes children. Unfortunately in london a lot of places do not welcome children but not here. They fussed over my 15 month daughter , the chef actually came out to ask what she would like to eat and her pasta was so good that my husband and i were fighting to finish it. We go once a month for Sunday lunch and have never been disappointed. Great cocktails and fun music

Great place. The fact that it works despite being such a long and thin building is proof of the clever decor, tasty food and cocktails and superb value for money. Staff very friendly and helpful. The special offer valid during the week made our evening out one of the cheapest as well as nicest. Tasty food and totally different from what you get elsewhere. Somewhat on the heavy side though, my fish was huge and dessert was just not an option. Cocktails large and very cheap for what you get. More than 2 and I would have been staggering home. Recommended.
