Kazan Kitchen

We found Kazan Kitchen by accident when looking for somewhere to have a meal at 5pm last Saturday before my daughter had to catch a bus from Victoria Coach Station. It was so lucky that we noticed it because most places nearby where shut or not yet serving for the evening and we all agreed that we thought the food delicious.
The food was freshly cooked and there was plenty of choice. I had lamb shank tagine with couscous which was very tender and full of flavour while my daughter enjoyed her salmon kebab. The food may not be sophisticated but is generous and full of flavour.
The restaurant itself was cosy and the staff friendly and welcoming. We don't have any Turkish restaurants where I live but if Kazan moved nearby I'd certainly be visiting often.

I am a regular at Kazan Kitchen and have always enjoyed wonderful food and service. This is why I became a regular! The reviewer must have been exceptionally unlucky...

I have visited this café on 22nd June 2012. First of all, I would like to say that please AVOID this café! The reason is that the service and the food were terrible. I have read the comment below saying that `muammara is amazing` which is absolutely laughable! Muammara comes from Palestinian and Lebanese cuisine not even from Mediterranean or Turkish cuisine which they claim they have. Although it is very simple to do that, it was not fresh at all. We went for Sirloin steak which was another frustration since it was full of fat. To sum up, I will never ever go that café again and not recommend it anyone. Their price is reasonable but come on who wants to spend their money for terrible food and bad service!

I've been sitting outside Kazan Kitchen for over 10 years, so they must be doing something very right! I particularly enjoy watching tourists or newcomers inspect the menu by the door and waiting for them to come out latter with a satisfied smile.
If you haven't been before you will be made very welcome. And if, like me you've been a regular for over a decade, then you'll be made even more welcome!
I'll be there tomorrow ready for my first specially prepared 'lovely cappuccino' of the day.
I treat Kazan Kitchen (al fresco or Caramel as was in previous lives) as my place to sit and read and to meet with friends. When I do eat it is always delicious.
We are lucky to have the wonderful Osgood as manager who has made the journey across the road from 'big' Kazan to look after the smaller operation.
Enjoy!

Kazan Kitchen became one of my favourite restos recently not only because they serve delicious food but also they do breakfast, lunch and dinner!
I strongly recommend Muammara(mashed wallnuts, feta, red pepper paste, garlic!) as mezze..Lamb Koftes as the main then finish with home made Baklavas!
Credits to whoever prepared the wine list! Finally a Turkish resto serving good wines at reasonable prices. You can have house red or white without any hesitation! Both French and good.
Or try Malbec or Sancerre if you want to spoil yourself...around 20-25 pounds max.
And very good service.
