Assorti (Fitzrovia)

My wife and I were keen on sampling a new type of cuisine and came across Assorti as it was close to where we both worked. Located around 5mins walk from Oxford Circus tube station Assorti is a charming family run restaurant that serves local foods from Russia and its surrounding areas. The establishment is tastefully decorated and has a cosy homely feeling. We were both surprised by the variety of dishes on offer and the proprietor of the restaurant was on hand and explained the different dishes on offer and where they originated from. I would say of the mains, the Plov and many were delicious. I myself have never been a big fan of soups but the Borsch and spicy Harcho were packed with flavour. If you are looking to sample a different type of cuisine in comfortable surroundings I would highly recommend this restaurant.
