Just had my 30th birthday party at The Slaughtered Lamb

Excellent venue which i strongly recommend.

The general manager was really nice and after explaining a few things, He pretty much let us get on with partying

Would like to say thanks again. And i shall be returning

i am a local in the slaughtered lamb and i can' t believe these harsh attacks against the pub. the food is lovely and good value for money. i personally like the staff. they are up for a little chat any time i come in. it' s one of the last few pubs with caracter. maybe things don't always run smoothly but at the end of the day it's not a five star hotel or a posh cocktail bar.i recommend it x

The staff are incredibly rude.

We ordered fish and chips for 3. An easy order.

After waiting 50 minutes we asked where the order was and were told "are you blind can't you see we are busy?"

Waited another 20 minutes, Then was brought our side orders of mushy peas. No Fish and chips. Ten minutes later were bought just chips.

By this point (80 minutes after ordering) we had to leave. We were very kindly told we could have our money back. Brilliant! How kind of them to refund money for food we hadn't received.

I pointed this out and told them the service was so rude and they had clearly forgotten the order and didn't apologise once. The response was "i know you drink in here a lot so don't be rude to me"

I said "not any more" and that was in a 4 weeks ago (just remembered to write this)

Until they change all the staff and management myself and my friends will not go.

A few months ago I popped in with a friend to have a quick one before dinner. Despite the pub not being over crowded and being acknowledged on the way in by the staff we never managed to get served. One of the staff was having a lengthy conversation (with a local I suppose) and another member was wiping down counters and generally ignoring us. We must have stood there by the bar for 15 - 20 minutes. I was amazed at the effort they made to ignore us. We were so outraged by the end of it that we stormed out. Even though it looked like a nice environment and a pleasant place to have a drink, I strongly recommend you don’t go there, unless of course you’re with one of the locals who has preferential treatment.

This venue has the rudest staff in London. On a recent visit they decided to start putting chairs up on the tables at 10.20 -there were 20 people in the pub at this time and before 11 they told us they were shutting and we could have plastic galsses and take our drinks with us. When I asked why they were shutting they said they wanted to go home early, when I queried drinking up time they said come back with your lawyers.

I won't be coming back and I urge you not to go there at all.

I live 5 doors from this place and its always welcoming for an after work beer, an all day sess, or a sunday afternoon coffee & newspapers. Descent real ale, some fine alternative beers and fab foods. They could do with employing some experienced/more diligent (and less uber cool) staff, but other than that the environment, and leather couches, make for a relaxing experience. Take your friends, take your mum, take your wife (take someone elses wifes!) and enjoy!!

I've been there quite a few times and I have really liked the food. It is the type of food you get in a pub, but it has something that makes it nicer. You can tell things are fresh and natural.

This place seems to divide opinion but i find the staff, although not falling over themselves to be friendly, are perfectly courteous and efficient. The fish finger sandwiches and Sunday lunches are rightly legendary and I recently discovered that they have live music 2 or 3 nights a week in the basement bar (which is an amazing space and totally different to upstairs!). I get the feeling it's still not widely known as a music venue yet but on the two occassions I've been, the music and atmosphere has been amazing! The £5 door charge seemed steep first time but an amazing female singer songwriter signed to the same lable as Bjork was playing a secret gig and the other acts were just as good. Check it out before everyone finds out about it!

Wow! i went for my first roast at the slaughtered lamb last sunday and was truly amazed. I've been drinking in this pub pretty much since it opened and always liked the place. the food is good if you're in a fish and chips kind of mood, the music is frequently suprising in its ability to play stuff you haven't heard before but really like, and the staff aren't all eastern european non english speakers - which is rare in london bars these days. BUT the roast.... oh my, they have really hit the nail on the head with this. its THE BEST roast i have ever had. better than my own mothers (i have to admit) and without the family row too! i'd take surly service anyday for that. Not that the service is bad - you'd think some of the reviewers on this site went just to have a drink with the staff - blimey, i only asked for a guiness and i got one..end of story. who knows if they're evil, they make damn fine dinners and i just love those windows.

please London - more bars like this and less chains. character and atmosphere please..quality is a rare bonus, but you'll find all three here.
