Excellent value for money in good sized contemporary restaurant in a great location, seconds away from Covent Garden Market. Good selection on the menu - we were impressed! A lovely atmosphere on a Friday night.

Excellent food and service, perhaps some of the staff could be more friendly, but they were certainly efficient and respectful.

Went here on the friday night on the 10th of noc after seeing good reviews on this site. Booked online, and go to there earlier than original time, table was ready. We skipped starters and got three steaks- there speciality appernently! They were horrible and chewy. They were the most disgusting steaks we'd ever had, we might of been understanding if the resaurant was busy but it wasnt! It was truly awful and a waste of £15. The puddings were OK. Needless to say, the place was lovely and our waitress was nice.

Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Myself and 5 friends booked a table online for Covent Garden Grill, on arriving although we had online confirmation, no table was booked. We did get a table and 6 glasses of cava arrived. Coming from Scottish Borders,we asked which part of the Scottish Borders the steaks came from, the reponse was Aberdeen!! So why is it advertised as Scottish Borders Beef?? 5 of us had steaks and not one of these was cooked as requested. They did offer to take them away and cook them again, but as they were all wrong, we didn't think there would be much chance of them being right next time. We asked to see the manager and she did not come but offered us a free bottle of wine (between 6!). We refused this and asked again to see her. I must say she was excellent at not giving in to offer any reduction in our bill, she obviously handles complaints on a regular basis! So we gave in asked for the bill and low and behold we were actually charged for 6 glasses of Cava, which we deducted from the bill ourselves.

Awful restaurant. Staff are rude - I asked for the mushrooms to be taken off the veggie kebab, they told me to do it myself or order something else. I stress I asked this when ordering the food. When the kebabs turned up the mushrooms were on the very end of the skewers so my request would have taken them a matter of seconds! Had to have an argument with the waiter and show him the evidence of the free class of cava offer booked through lastminute.com, before he would give it to us. This was all after we had ordered a £70 bottle of champagne. Steak had obviously been frozen and was disgusting and not cooked as specified. Vanilla & ameretto ice-cream was completely tasteless and could have been bargain vanilla from Tescos. Would get better food and service at McDonalds!

I went to Covent Garden Grill last night for a quick meal before the theatre. We arrived at about 6.50pm and specifically ordered by 7pm so that we had an hour before the show started. The restaurant was farily empty with only 5 tables full upstairs out of about 15. We waited half an hour for our two main courses, but there was no sign of them despite other people who came in after us getting their starters and then main courses! Eventually we asked the waitress after about 35 minutes if it would be much longer as we needed leave. She then looked panicked and it was clear that she had forgotten to place the order with the kitchen. She claimed that the kitchen was just very busy although I am not sure how with only 5 tables to serve. We then had to wait another 15 minutes for the food to come, when it finally did we didn't even have time to eat it all before we left. The staff were particuarly unhelpful, almost to the point of being rude when we kept having to ask how long the food would be. The food was very average and the service dreadful.

I chose this restaurant for my partners birthday treat for 11 of us as the reviews were positive especially regarding the food. On arrival we were told that our table was downstairs (one of my friends was in crutches). After we helped her downstairs we didn't recognise any of the large party and the member of staff then told us that our table was upstairs so we helped our friend climb back upstairs. Our starters were average and it seemed such a long time before the main arrived. I had the cheesburger well done which was so dry and tough I found it difficult to swallow and my fellow diners who had steak, chops had the same problem. I then had to assist my friend in crutches back down the stairs to the toilet as there are no disabled toilet facilities on the street level floor. The staff were helpful and the venue is very nice but I found the food bland and tasteless. A big disapointment but maybe they were having an off night in the kitchen.

Myself and 5 friends prebooked this resteurant online as a surpise 40th ce
lebration for one of our party.
From the moment we entered staff were friendly and helpful. We had a preset menu that had plenty to choose from for all of us. The wine list was reasonably priced, the house wine both red and white proving a firm favourite!
The food was fantastic, starters well presented and not over facing, steaks cooked to our order, desserts were delectible, apart from we were not quite sure about the ice cream flavours, maybe stick to favourite flavours!
Staff were always on hand, answering any queries that we had, even taking photographs and singing happy birthday when the cake arrived.
The resteurant had a party atmosphere without being to loud and raucous.
We all enjoyed the evening and would recommend the resteurant to everyone who wants a good meal and service.

After reading the previous reviews, I was a little apprehensive as my wife has previously worked in restaurants and is the first one to notice when something is not quite right. I didn’t tell her about these reviews to see if our experience would be similar.
We found it to be a very enjoyable indeed. The restaurant itself ( as you can see from the pictures) is very nice and staff were polite and helpful.
We were not kept waiting for longer than normal for our food. Because of the previous reviews on this site, I was looking to see if this would be an issue, but it wasn’t.
We had the summer offer , 3 courses and cava for £15 and 2 lemonades. I was pleasantly surprised to find the lemonade not overpriced which is often the case in restaurants.
It is worth mentioning that a discretionary service charge of 12.5% is added to the bill which I was aware of before booking. Although it seems a lot, I was more than happy to oblige. I would definitely eat there again!

We booked on line via the website and went early as we were standing around waiting!
The staff were very couteous and were happy to let us have our table 45 minutes early.
The food was excellent and very good value at £15 includng a glass of Cava. We also had a very reasonable bottle of wine with our meal.
Service was not particluarly speedy but we werent in any rush so it didn't matter.
Am just about to book for 6 of us to eat there at the end of the month.
I would recommed the restaurant to anyone looking for a reasonably priced meal in very pleasant surroundings.
It is also possible to save an extra 20% with smartsave vouchers!
