Just wanted to say that my sister and I had a lovely meal on Sunday night, it was excellent. As I told one of the waiters, it was the best service we had received all weekend whilst staying in London, it made a refreshing change!! We will definitely recommend.

With three other guests I dined at Covent Garden Grill on Friday night. We were all thoroughly impressed with the speed of service and the quality of the food.

We all had steaks, three having 8oz fillet and the fourth, me, having sirloin, they were so tander and proper chips aswell. We followed this up with chocolate crepes and vanilla panna cotta.

The staff, there were two looking after the area we were in, were efficient and chatty, funny actually and very accommodating; one of us had dietry issues.

I can whole-heartedly recommend the Covent Garden Grill.

Ate here on Thursday night with two friends. We were greeted very nicely by the manager and the waiter was a delight, very amusing man, Alex I think. The place was not packed but there was a nice atmosphere and good background music.

We all had dishes from a table d'hote menu, my pate and rump steak burger were lovely, and the pannacotta was fabulous. My friends said their chicken and salmon were also very good.

I booked direct through the restaurant website and reserved the special offer, three courses for £15, even with a bottle of nice Chilean wine and service the bill was only £23 each.

I would recommend Covent Garden Grill, especially if Alex (?) is working.

We visited this restaurant last Thursday, it was on the spur of the moment decisions while wndering round covent garden.

We were initially impressed with the decor and the ambience , however we were soon to be disappointed.

The food was tremendously below par. The chive mash was smash with chives mixed in (one of my pet hates!) and the pork chop was dry and chewy. My boyfriend had fries that could have been purchased from McDonalds and his "steak burger" was definately not a steak - tough and bland.

The service was ok and the wine selection was adequate, however I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are far better dining options in London where your money will be better spent.

I have a rule of thumb when dining in London - if you could not have cooked better yourself, then it was worth it.

On this occasion I wish I had stayed at home.

Mediocre. I wouldn't really recommend this restaurant and would not really want to go back. However, although it wasn't completely awful, for the cost, you'd have every right to expect better in central London.

Four of us went for dinner on a Wednesday night. We all ordered steaks. They all arrived cold and some not properly cooked to order. Two of the meals had to go back to be heated up. The 'herb chips' were limp and cold, as if they had been prepared well in advance and left out. The waiting staff were ok and did offer us a free drink each to make up for the fact, however, they seemed resigned to the fact that these sorts of problems happen quite regularly...and from some of the other reviews on here I can see that they do.

To finish off, my rhubarb creme brulee was fine and our wine nice but I'd hoped for a better all round dining experience. Unfortunately that was just not to be.

Excellent value for money in good sized contemporary restaurant in a great location, seconds away from Covent Garden Market. Good selection on the menu - we were impressed! A lovely atmosphere on a Friday night.

Excellent food and service, perhaps some of the staff could be more friendly, but they were certainly efficient and respectful.

Went here on the friday night on the 10th of noc after seeing good reviews on this site. Booked online, and go to there earlier than original time, table was ready. We skipped starters and got three steaks- there speciality appernently! They were horrible and chewy. They were the most disgusting steaks we'd ever had, we might of been understanding if the resaurant was busy but it wasnt! It was truly awful and a waste of £15. The puddings were OK. Needless to say, the place was lovely and our waitress was nice.

Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Myself and 5 friends booked a table online for Covent Garden Grill, on arriving although we had online confirmation, no table was booked. We did get a table and 6 glasses of cava arrived. Coming from Scottish Borders,we asked which part of the Scottish Borders the steaks came from, the reponse was Aberdeen!! So why is it advertised as Scottish Borders Beef?? 5 of us had steaks and not one of these was cooked as requested. They did offer to take them away and cook them again, but as they were all wrong, we didn't think there would be much chance of them being right next time. We asked to see the manager and she did not come but offered us a free bottle of wine (between 6!). We refused this and asked again to see her. I must say she was excellent at not giving in to offer any reduction in our bill, she obviously handles complaints on a regular basis! So we gave in asked for the bill and low and behold we were actually charged for 6 glasses of Cava, which we deducted from the bill ourselves.

Awful restaurant. Staff are rude - I asked for the mushrooms to be taken off the veggie kebab, they told me to do it myself or order something else. I stress I asked this when ordering the food. When the kebabs turned up the mushrooms were on the very end of the skewers so my request would have taken them a matter of seconds! Had to have an argument with the waiter and show him the evidence of the free class of cava offer booked through lastminute.com, before he would give it to us. This was all after we had ordered a £70 bottle of champagne. Steak had obviously been frozen and was disgusting and not cooked as specified. Vanilla & ameretto ice-cream was completely tasteless and could have been bargain vanilla from Tescos. Would get better food and service at McDonalds!
