Yi-Ban Chinese Restaurant

Been there twice- Afternoon and evening! Both times I thought it was brill! Reserved a table by window and was delighted to stroll past everyone to my reserved seats, when others were placed away from window view. Very tasty food, sizeable portions, nothing too gourmet, just v.good Chinese food. Love the view of the docks, especially at night with lights shining on water. Would be wow at sunset. Service was too good!! Waiter seems too keen to serve but thats not too bad. Atmosphere good, lovely decor. 9/10

I have just tried to reserve a table for two on Sunday 30th April (1pm). I was informed that no reservations are taken for Sunday lunch "as the table cannot be guaranteed". I thought this was the whole idea behind making a reservation.

I particulary wanted to have lunch at the Yi-Bang to celebrate my wedding anniversary.

I have been to the Yi-Bang many times and commend the excellence of its food. However, I do think that you need to review your reservation policy.

Best Chinese food I have ever had! Would recommend this restaurant to all. A bit awkward to find and was a bit weary when I found myself walking up some stairs in a community gym, but when you reach the top you realise the reason for the location as you have an almost waters edge view over the docks, which is suprisingly nice. Food was excellent and couldnt be faulted. Service was also good and the only slight problem was the entertainment which was rather loud. Although if you were in a large group i'm sure the entertainment would be much more appreciated. all in all, highly recommended!

Great food but terrible atmosphere. Looks like a school gym that's been decorated for a wedding!! The band playing on Friday nights is a bit naff and too loud... but the food is great...

Visited this resturant by accident when visiting the Boat Show. Were a bit doubtfull because of the locoation but what a pleasant surprise.

Food service & situtation all excelent.

As a great fan of Good chinese food this is great. We would go back next time we are up in town!
