Dear London Eating Readers,

I have worked in this place for four years, I had my great time ever in London. Now I am back to Turkey for good, but I swear I do miss very very much about everything Meze Mangal such as friendly atmosphere, great food, fantastic management. Believe me I can not find the same taste in Turkey, especially Cop Shish. I agree the food is cheap but taste is so great, the atmosphere so cosy,you just feel like home when you are there. Highly recommended and book it in advance. Enjoy...

Having lived a few streets away from this restaurant we couldn't avoid trying it out after hearing such great reviews from our friends, family and neighbours.

We moved 3 years ago and still travel back to Brockley/Lewisham to eat here.

We were single when we started eating here and now even take our son back. He got through his teething by sucking on pitta bread!

Yes, the area isn't 'trendy looking' but who cares. The food is lovely, the staff are pleasant and accomodating so guess that's what counts.

Try it! You won't be disappointed!

This place is an absolute gem. I'm fortunate enough to live local, and I go to eat there around three or four times a month. The food is superb, with enormous portions, and the prices are amazing; so cheap! The waiters are efficient and friendly and the owner always comes over to say hello and ask how I'm doing. It's got a real family atmosphere and it's always busy, so make sure you book ahead!

This really is a wonderful restaurant and is always busy with a great atmosphere and top service.the staff and management are always friendly and attentive and the cooks both on the open grill and working the big oven, both cook the home made food to perfection.

Hi. the reason that i have chosen this restaurant is the comments in london-eating web site. i was in the restaurant last saturday. The food was ok but the table cloth was really dirty nevertheless the decoration, cutlery and the plates are so old and dirty. The workers were arguing each other.

This restaurant is quite simply the best I have ever found, and my wife and I are regulars. The food is always first-class, and the owners and staff don't just treat you like friends, they really are friends.

We have had many quiet evenings here with just the two of us eating, we have taken friends from several countries, and we have had wonderful birthday parties in the hidey-hole at the back.

The mix of people, of different ages and origins, creates a real feeling of community. I can't think of a better way to eat out.

I worked in this lovely restaurant for a while when i was in London, i had great time working there, we were just like a family wirh the stuff, owner s and customers, I can say that the food is excellent, now i am living in Turkey and can not find the same taste even here. I agree that the food is cheap, delicious, place is cousy, warm and clean , stuff is friendly. I strongly recommend it. Give it a try.

This is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The food is superb, cheap and enORmous portions. we have friends who come all the way from Spain just to go there.

My absolute favourite local restaurant, Meze Mangal is an undiscovered gem! They serve good honest tasty food, well presented, and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere is great, with the guys tending to the open grill and the huge stone oven, and Turkish-Londoners having family get togethers - it's almost like you're on holiday! I'm going back tonight and I can't wait to get stuck into the Lahmacan. Be sure to book.

I agree with My Myoo and Mr Neil, this place is excellent... probably my favorite restaurent in London. The food is very very good, the bets Turkish/Lebanese food I've ever had. The staff are very friendly too, book ahead!
