When it's a good night, Luna Rossa makes some of the best pizza in town. They serve it on a large wooden board with each person's toppings claiming their section of the pizza.
The first time I came here it was wonderful and impressive but in subsequent times I've been less thrilled. The restaurant is often hot and the back room is especially cramped and noisy.

Very noisy (most of it produced by the restaurant staff), no atmosphere, and over-priced. The food is OK but it is not worth the hassle.

Awful.
We eat out at least 3 times a week in the Mayfair/Belgavia/Notting Hill areas
This was by far the worst place in over a year of dining out
While waiting for our table we were queue jumped by a 2 groups as they seemed to know the waiter
The brushetta was cold and not crispy at all
The spigola fish dish was tasteless
The pasta dish my wife had was little better
The waiter was clueless and had to be asked at least twice for eveything
Even the lemoncello was bad - i am certain it was diluted
Only the atmosphere and decor gave this place any kind of credibility
Never again

Good, friendly local. Came on a Friday night without a booking and was seated straight away. Service was friendly and the food was great. Bruschetta had loads of flavour and was very fresh; rigatoni with meatballs was delicious, good comfort food, while the diavolo pizza had a crispy base.
They pack them in a bit, but that just adds to the atmosphere.

It's been a while since I've been to Luna Rossa, and I'm glad to see that everything's still the way it should be.
I booked a table for five and was pleased to note that we were seated as soon as we entered, something that wasn't always the case in previous years.
Our antipasto misto arrived promptly and was delicious. It had all the hallmarks of something prepared right there and then (you can tell if you've been given old parma ham as it tends to 'sweat' and look opaque, while Luna Rossa's was fresh and shiny).
The piece-de-resistance was the 'foccacina' we got with our antipasto; essentially a pizza base with olive oil and oregano. So crisp and tasty, almost better than the pizzas that followed it (but not quite!).
The manager was as jovial and friendly as ever, even putting down a full bottle of Limoncello at our table at the end of our meal and telling us to 'help ourselves to a glass'!
Sure, Luna Rossa has had its ups and downs in the past, but based on my last visit, it's definitely in an up period now!

went there on a sunday night with my boyfriend, called hours befor to book a table for two. on punctual arrival, no one was expecting us! Got a table next to the till, without tablecloth (although others around were set). Anyway, food was anything else but exceptional. Bruschetta tasted dull and bread was stale. Then came the pasta! My bf ordered some pasta in a parmesan basket. On arrival of food, the waiter informed us that there were parmesan baskets left! What if we really wanted that parmesan?? My aubergine and tomato sauce gnocchi were the best though: it came without aubergine!!! No apology when we sent it back so we cancelled the order, or am I supposed to eat alone? Atmosphere was non-existent.

Maurizio, wouldn't it be more honest of the establishment to leave out the unitemised 12.5% service charge on the bill and then let the customer make his own mind up how much to tip overall when the credit card machine arrives. The system they have leaves plenty of room for the unaware/tipsy/non-english reading customer to leave a whopping 25% service charge. Ok, if you think it's worth it, however, not ok if like many here you have received less than satisfactory service.

I'm a regular at Luna Rossa and i found very funny these comments about the service charge because if you read the bill at the bottom of it you will see written very big that the service charge is included in the bill and is also written on the menu. Moreover i think is right to leave space to add an extra tip, but you're not obliged to, so you can press either YES or NOT and it happened many times to me that having received a very good service, i left an extra tips for the waiter that was serving me, so what is wrong with that...? If you wana leave an extra tips and dont have casg you can do it with the credit card. This restaurant is the best in London and beter than many in Italy too (and im from Naples) cant wait tob there again.
