Ebury Wine Bar

Although the food at the Ebury Wine Bar was very nice, the experience was a massive disappointment due to the truly, truly appalling service. Here's why;
1) We sat waiting for 15 minutes without being asked if we wanted drinks
2) When the drinks arrived they weren't what we ordered
3) We then waited another few minutes before having to ask if we could have some menus
4) The waitress spoke so softly we could barely hear what she was saying
5) It's the first time I've ever been asked how I'd like my chicken cooked,... what do you say? "Well done"??
6) The waitress then took an absolutely age to carefully work out what cutlery we needed for our meals
7) There was a very long wait between courses
8) Our coffees took over 20 minutes to arrive after we ordered them
9) When the coffees did arrive they weren't what we ordered
10) The waiter who delivered our bill was very rude
....I think that's about it but suffice to say we didn't leave a tip and won't be going again. There are plenty of restaurants in London when you can get good food and good service and this certainly isn't one of them!

Well, I wonder if this place has changed management?
Having previously had good food and service there - I was shocked and horrified by the horrendous food and service yesterday.
Forgotten orders, cold food, rude waitress – sorry but I won’t be going back again! I’m just sorry I recommended the Ebury in the first place!

Been here a couple of times. Generally a nice place.Steak-go for the sirloin instead of the fillet, the mushroom filo pastry was nice too. All in all, it is nice, but, you are paying for it.

Our staff use this restaurant regularly for both business and personal use. The menu is varied with a nice mix of traditional and inventive dishes, and an extensive wine list to complement. The staff are always friendly and the service is efficient. You are never made to feel rushed, and nothing is too much trouble. The only problem is deciding which of the delicious desserts to have!

We chose this place because of the reviews and because it was convenient to a visiting friend's hotel. It was really charming, the staff was friendly and not too intrusive, and the food was very good. I would recommmend it, for a glass of wine, or for a great, relaxing dinner.
By the way, our server was very gracious as to give us some LUSCIOUS chocolate truffles with our apres-dinner coffee. It was the perfect ending to a very enjoyable meal.
I should mention, this isn't a rush-in and rush-out kind of place. Probably not ideal for pre-theatre crowd.

Fantastic food, cosy surroundings. Take an extra layer of clothing as air con works well!

I dined with my significant other half at the Ebury Wine Bar not only a week ago. I can't explain what a magical experience it was - not only was the food fantastic by any standards (and I have eaten in several european countries) but also the staff were polite, friendly and treated me like a real human. I found the atmosphere to be most charming and it even gave me a few design ideas for my new home. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those members of staff at the Ebury Wine Bar for making my evening such a delight, much better than anywhere else i have been (and I have eaten in europe). Goodbye.

After hearing how much our american house guests had enjoyed a meal at the Ebury wine bar I took it upon myself to take the family there. The evening was faultless. The salmon fish cakes were simply exquisite and my son had never had a steak quite like it! However, it was not only the food which was so perfect. The atmosphere was enchanting and service impeccable - we will be back soon!

Having read a couple of fantastic reviews for this charming restaurant I decided to take my husband to the Ebury Wine Bar for supper. Infact, it was dinner! The food was mouthwateringly delicious and the menu superb. All the staff were simply charming - and I couldn't have chosen any where better to celebrate this occasion. They made a genuine fuss over us, and the evening was truly enjoyable thanks to their fantastic service! One review I read below remarks that the decor is dated- in our oppinion it was simply delightful and wonderfuly quirky. I couldn't reccomend this fantastic little find more highly!
