This place is our favourite place to eat in Walthamstow, consistently great food and very friendly service and the food, especially the amazing apple pannetone, is great.

The menu is modern mediterranean, with a strong Italian influence. All ingredients are extremely fresh and cooked to perfection.

Prices are extremely modest for such good food - you'd pay easily double this in the centre of town.

Service is very friendly, attentive (but not overly so), and courteous. The decor is simple and fresh.

It's open Mon-Sat daytimes, as well as evenings Thurs-Sat, and not open on Sundays. A hidden gem!

Three of us visited for the first time on a Thursday evening , having found that it is only open in the evening from Thursday to Saturday .

We had the sea bass and lasagne and it was all excellent and very well presented. For sweet, apple crumble was also excellent, lemon pancakes OK (could have been hotter). We did not try any starters.

The service from the very friendly and attentive waiter was first rate, with just the right gaps between courses, and you felt the staff genuinely wanted customers to have a good time.

Also nice for us modest drinkers that the menu had plenty of soft drinks and you didn't feel daft if you wanted just a coffee with your meal.

The interior is very simple and spartan but neat - perhaps a little dull, so not bags of atmosphere, but perfectly pleasant.

The prices were extremely good value and we would certainly come here again - highly recommended if you want a good meal without too many fripperies.

Just one note on payment, as mentioned in another review, no they don't take credit or charge cards or even Switch, so you do need a cheque or cash - refreshingly old-fashioned in this day and age!

Excellent service and great food. I had a chicken dish and my friend had the smoked haddock. Both were divine-- as were the accompanying vegetables.

The service was unhurried even though we were still eating beyond the official Friday night closing time of 10.30pm.

Evenings are quite quiet - it seems that not many people (including most of the reviewers on this site) know it's moved to evening opening, so head on down....

This is a lovely place with a great atmosphere (although the chairs on the floor are quite noisy). The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is consistently excellent.

They now boast they are open in the evening, however, I would check before going as we turned up on a weekday to find that it was most definitely shut!

I also find it very frustrating that they still don't take cards - it would be so much easier!

Lovely Lovely restaurant. Phone up and book in advance to secure a table in the beautiful little garden outside when its sunny! There is a great choice on the menu, and all of it is delicious.

Im echoing fellow reviewers when I say if only it was open in the evenings!

Definately worth a visit.

I agree, best place to eat in Walthamstow, if only it was open in evenings and on Sundays. Food is delicious and service always friendly. Only fault would be that they use ready sliced bread for their toast/sandwiches and they used to use thick freshly sliced bread which I think makes all the difference. Sausages aren't as good as they used to be too but can't complain otherwise.
