what terrible service, my second visit to eco, the first time round we got a service without a smile, which i thought could just be a bad day and will give the place a second chance. Second time round, we got the rudest waitress i have ever seen, she got our order wrong which we didnt get an apology for and we kindly said we will keep the wrong order, 2 mins later she brings our original order and is annoyed when we say we dont want it any more. Waited over half an hour to order mains, at which point all staff were ignoring us and again when we asked the same rude waitress to take our order she pointed to the door as to say get out. one of our party went then to speak to Sami the manager and said we just want our bill now as we no longer want to stay here. He gave no apology and said the system was new (which does not explain the bad service), again no bill and when we finally got the bill, it was thrown at us. I wish we hadnt paid now, as the food was normal, and the service the worst i have ever experienced. If you want normal food and rude service then this is the place to go and waste your money!

Disappointing experience on a Saturday lunchtime: they forgot one of our mains but offered no apology and no effort was made to reduce the bill despite the fact that four of us were half-way through our pizzas by the time the fifth meal arrived. Service staff were mostly friendly but a little inept - as well as the aforementioned forgotten order, when we asked for a latte, the waitress said "black or white?". There only seemed to be one oil bottle and one pepper grinder to share between multiple tables - both were moved over to another table without anyone asking if we had finished with them. At the end of the meal, despite a service charge being included on the bill already, the waitress left the gratuity option active on the credit card machine to encourage us to tip even more! The manager could clearly see we were unhappy (there was a bit of a scene when we declined to pay the full service charge) but he made no attempt to find out why, or to apologise, as we walked past him on the way out. Won't be going back.

We had a great dinner at Eco, the wild mushroom & tarragon bruschetta was brilliant and the pizzas are the best I have come across so far. The carrot cake was very tasty as well.

The service was very attentative as well. The decor is a bit dated and not the most romantic, but the very good food and the great service make well up for it.

We'll definetely come here again!

It is not owned by a "sort of mafia character", it is owned by an Egyptian man named Sami who lives in Baron's Ct. The pizzas are adequate everything else is very poor. The Chiswick branch shut in less than a year because it had decent competition unlike in Clapham. It's replacement, Franco Manca, which I believe Sami may have an interest in, is much much better.

What a terrible place, had a seafood risotto but frankly the only seafood I found was on the menu, on the plate it was pretty much just a blob of badly seasoned rice.

With only about three tables full it took forever to get the food and the waitresses clearly had something more important to do than look after their customers.

The decor is simple yet tired, the menus were sticky and dirty and the staff busy entertaining themselves. With so many italian restaurants around any other place must be better than Eco

Was wandering down the high street and this looked like a nice place to eat.

Well what can I say it met all my standards and they are pretty high.

We turned up without a booking at 7.30pm,

They welcomed my 3 year old, with great warmth and friendliness.

She had pasta and really enjoyed it, We did wait quite a while for our meals but in all fairness we did turn up with out an appointment.

Would definitely go again.

really funky, cool staff, buzzing atmosphere without any effort some i hear it is owned by kind of mafia character. makes it more enchanting. the food is genuine and well priced. i have paid more for less in many london fancy restaurants that think that they understand what they are doing but are really missing the point, this place has it! it is just a wicked. i had heard of eco forever it is a london legend, i love you eco!

Really fabulous pizzas. The bases are amazing, perfectly cooked and completely fresh - never soggy or boggy. Toppings are all fresh and really well executed, with some unusual combinations which work really well!

The al forno is incredible value.

Wine list good and very reasonable. Great atmosphere - but does get pop-music-tastic in the late evenings, friendly staff, pretty perfect actually!
