I visited Frankies in Putney with 12 friends for a birthday dinner.
They stated they had to shorten the menu due to the amount of people, we where left with 3 starters 3 main courses and 3 sweets to chose from, it was awful.
No vegetable selection, i had to have bass with salad, disgusting, the soup for the starter had grease floating at the top and what was not fir for consumption.
The service was so bad, we had to serve or own wine from the ice buckets set yards away from the table. all in all the worst i have been to in my life, the kebab shop would have been a better option.

I recently tried the Knightsbridge restaurant, Frankie's and can only report good things.
A warm reception from the staff means you can enjoy a drink (or two) in the bar before walking through to eat or you can simply get straight to the good stuff....the food!
The food is amazing, whilst there myself and guests had gnocchi, Parma ham, mozzarella and steaks which were quite simply...out of this world. This is a place for any food fanatic!
The layout is compact, but not on top of the table next to you. It's dark, and light primarily by subtle lighting and glitter balls throughout.
Give Frankie's a try. You cannot be disappointed

Had been curious about the Frankie Dettori/Marco Pierre White venture in SW3, so was rather looking forward to dining there with a group of friends last week. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. Decor: hot, stuffy, dingy ballroom dance hall. Service: charmless and very slow. Food: OK, but just. In the panna cotta with strawberries (now in season) the strawberries were frozen! Don't know if *******'* has many regulars, I certainly shall not be one of them.

I visited the newest Frankies in Putney this week with two friends. We eat out a lot in and around London and I have eaten at Frankies in Chiswick before.
My experience of the restaurants is that the food is OK - not memorable but the service is really not up to scratch. Chiswick was a disaster as we were a group of 10 and they had another group of 10 eating the same evening but had only booked out one group. I arrived early and they tried to sit me with a bunch of people I'd never met! Apologies were thin on the ground.
The manager at Putney was a miserable thing - she didn't crack a smile all night to anyone. She muttered some sort of hello when we arrived and then left us sitting until we managed to catch her eye before we even got a drink. Our friend who arrived later didn't even get a 'hello' as the manageress was far too busy on the computer to tear herself away.
The site they have taken is notorious for churn, no one has lasted there more than about 18 months - if I were them I'd be making a bit more of an effort to get some repeat business.

I don't understand the previous reviews.
My family and I have been to Frankies four times in the past 16 months and so that you've an idea of our tastes I will tell you that we have also been to Ramseys at Claridges, Joe Allens and The Fat Duck at Bray, we know our stuff.
Every time we've been to Frankies we've said we'll go again, thoroughly enjoyable, the magician is now a bloke, but still very entertainining and A DOORMAN TO PARK YOUR CAR! We like it!!

After an OK meal here organised by one of my sister's earlier this year, my other sister booked for a small family group here last night to celebrate her 40th birthday, with a fixed menu proposed by the restaurant. The choices were highly unimaginative (my sister was it seems overtrusting in leaving this to them), and the food and house wine were disappointing. The service was fine, and it had quite a good atmosphere - but this was then spoiled by a lot of smokers later on. Plus my brother found a cockroach in the toilets. There have to be places to eat in this part of town which offer better food. Not surprisingly I would not choose to go here again.

I have no doubt that Little Frankie would have fallen off his horse (if only we hadn't been served it cunningly disguised as a Ribeye!).
Three of us eagerly trotted along to the recently opened SW15 eatery with high expectations of finding a New Firm Favourite. We had no sooner left the Starting Gates when the restaurant fell at the First Fence!
Being all great lovers of Italian Red Wines we quickly discovered that we were a Million Furlongs from Red Rum and hastily heading towards Red Square!
Still with high hopes for the food, we keenly Cantered on and ordered our Appetisers (2x Calamari & 1x Gnocchi), when we eventually found our waiter who appeared to have been put out to graze! The Calamari was Fair/Medium but the Gnocchi was very Hard Going/Stodge.
With the insider knowledge that only two other tables were in the Race (1 for two & 1 lone diner) and an open kitchen facing us, we suddenly felt as if we had been entered into the Grand National!
Our Main Courses arrived to our table when we were only halfway through our Appetisers. Some 15 minutes later the same dishes re-appeared and were a Far Cry from the exquisite delights of Marco Pierre Whites kitchen as you could Bet On.
With no one there to Crack the Whip this Horse will Never be in the Running!

Its a 1000-1 Outsider to Ever become a Favourite...

In a word "tatty". The paper tablecloths were greasy - I think they had been changed since the last diners, but I suspect that the plastic tablecloth underneath had not been wiped. the welcome was perfunctory by someone who did not wish to interrupt her telephone call, and could not raise a smile. The room a airless and dull, despite the mirror balls and mirrored walls. The food was OK, but a Margarita pizza, basic burger, and chicken paillard should not tax an MPW kitchen. Fried zucchini were delicious! Coffee was no more than acceptable. Service was very quick - fine with children, but otherwise felt a little rushed, but we were happy to leave. I can't think that we'll return - there's enough choice in the area to avoid this tired and disappointing venue.

Last sunday we had the best lunch out ever in london. With 3 children under 10, there are very few places that will welcome you with such open arms and practically nanny your children for you while you eat! they were jam packed but you wouldn't have noticed it. Sunday roast beef was delicious and my husband had the belly pork which looked tiny and a bit odd but tasted unbelievable. My kids had their own menu for £7.50 - 2 courses - very reasonable and they were allowed to make their own pizzas while we enjoyed a nice bottle of wine. All was finished with a magician - now who can say better than that?? not bad value at all and delightful service, despite there only being 2 waiters and one lovely manageress! Highly recommend it and will defintiely be going back!
