A group of 12 of us went to Frankie's for a celebration. Firstly there was no one to greet us and take our coats. Secondly we had to wait 30 minutes before anyone came to take our drinks order. The restaurant was not busy as it was 6.30pm on a Wednesday. The menu was uninspiring and reminiscent of a Frankie and Bennys, the decor dated and tatty, the food was below average and the service utterly appalling. None of us will return and I will not be recommending this venue to anyone. Very disappointing.

Stay away from this place! It looks nice and reasonably prized, and you think there must be some quality to it because it's got Marco Pierre White's name on it, but unfortunately this is not the case at all. I took my new date there on last Thursday thinking it would be a good place to start, but the food was terrible, the service even worse, and I felt completely cheated by the end of it - the waiter even forgot to bring our drinks in the end and acted as if he couldn't care less throughout. I had a buffalo mozzarella for starters, and a chicken escalope with some chips for the mains, and I was in disbelief when the food arrived. I mean, you can buy better mozzarella at Tesco's, and when it's served with just two leaves of basil and a slice of completely tasteless tomato, you think the chef just can't be bothered. The main course was completely unbelievable - a plank of wood served as a chicken escalope! I can get a better escalope from Lidl, and even if I microwaved it, it couln't make it that dry. The presentation? Well stick the escalope on a white plate and that's it - beautiful! Chips? Mr Pierre White, when was the last time you had chips in your own restaurant? I mean Jesus - how can you go so wrong with such a basic thing? You'd be out of your own TV show like a bullet! These were not only undercooked, wet and too salty, but obviously made from the worst potatoes you can find from this side of the Atlantic. Unbelievable. You want more? The house-red tasted like some over-diluted Ribena that's been kept in an open bottle for at least a week before serving, and you only get a half-glass for the prize of a whole bottle! And you don't even want to get me started on the service... although I must admit that this may have been just our waiter - a totally carefree young guy from Italy maybe dreaming about the finer possibilities of unemployment after tasting the food here... But come on - I asked for a shot of Whisky with my coffee (yes, the one that was already 15 minutes late) and he gives me the drinks menu without saying a word! God! Why have waiters at all - just make a sign for the customers to get their own drinks from the vending machine next to the bar! Usually you would expect to get looked after very well in a place like this, but I'm afraid this was more of a Hell's-Kitchen-for-real than I could stomach. So I ain't coming back Marco, ever, and maybe you should reconsider having your name on a pit like this. I say 1/10 - and that one point is for the only good thing in this place - that it looks good.

This restaurant is a disaster. I went in for Sunday lunch at 12.45. Unsurprisingly it was empty and only a couple more groups had joined by 2.30.

Do not go here in the day. It looks more like a discotech with glitterballs hanging from the ceiling. I guess this is probably how they make their trade in the evenings.

The restaurant has stopped making it's signature burgers, so we orgered two roasts which came cold and on cold plates. After complaining this was fixed with the microwave.

We ordered a Canaloni and a Lasagne, which were bizarrely identical to each other!!

We ordered coffee and deserts. A few minutes later they returned with the bill instead????

The staff didn't want to be there, and there was no pride to be found in the restaurant. Such little attention to detail, especially when we were the only people in the restaurant for 1 hour, with more staff (6) on the floor than guests (4).

I wouldn't expect culinary expertise from a jocky, but from Marco Pierre White? This is an insult to food.

Let's see if MPW replies to my complaint letter.

I was extremely disappointed by the food and the service.

I arranged a surprise meal for my boyfriend's birthday going with the name Marco Pierre White. I cannot understand how Mr White can put his name to such food.

The venue was lovely, however we didn't get to see much of it as it felt as though the staff were trying to get rid of us. We ordered the steak and it was cold and flavourless. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant as we felt it was a complete waste of our money!!!!!

my husband and i ate here on a saturday evening to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, The restaurant was good fun i did feel as if i was on the set of the godfather which i loved. The service was very good and the waiting staff were unassuming and did not interrupt us constantly to ask if we were okay.

the food was amazing i had the t-bone special which was massive, and considering i dont eat much meat i ate the whole lot. I cant remember the last time i went to a restaurant where a chef could actually cook a steak to perfection. I even ate the spinach which i dislike normally. The tiramasu was wonderful but i could off eaten it again. The wine was lovely and there was a good list to choose from.

I would go again if ever staying in that area again.

Went to Frankies last night and I would have to say this is probably one of the worst restaurants in London...I chose better than my partner I had a Gnocchi starter followed by the chicken which was Ok, however my other half's lentil soup was bland and tasteless even after adding salt and pepper. His burger with cheese was again bland and badly presented with the most ridiculous amount!..He had a couple of mouthfulls of soup and about 2 bites of the burger. His comment was that give him a McDonalds any day!!!...I asked for an orange juice to drink and was told they didn't have any, surely this is one of the most basic drinks for a restaurant to stock!!...

We certainly wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone!!!...

My husband and I ate here on Wednesday 18th August. Had to be an early booking - 5.30. because we were going on to the Proms. So it was quiet - but that didn't bother us. Fun decor and I can imagine later in the evening there would be a great ambience. At last a chef that cooks steak properly! Ordered medium rare and that's what I got - it was delicious. My husband had chicken which he was pleased with too. Wine good. Puddings lovely. Good service. Will go again and would recommend.

After booking a table at Frankie's and then reading reviews we were apprehensive to say the least!

However after having a dinner for 12 we did not experience any of the bad elements that others have. The service was efficient but not hurried and although small requests had to be repeated at times, such as reminders for more glasses etc, they were accommodating and friendly at all times. Yes conversations could be interrupted by waiters pouring wine but by no means did it bother us and you have to remember, Frankie's is not trying to be Michelin starred!

The decor was fun and vibrant without being tacky and the atmosphere was brilliant. The food was good value and there was not one complaint from our table. The menu can be slightly confusing (no clear starter main course divide) and had no clear structure or theme however this meant there was something for all.

Ignore the MPW label and prepare for a fun evening with great food and wine with a good atmosphere and easy going service. Highly recommended for groups.

Decor was nice, however the waiting staff seemed to be in a hurry. Was served cheap wine by a waiter who served the wine for all 5 diners by reaching across the table.

Food warm and tuna overcooked. Waiter took ages to clear the plates away and in the end we refused to pay the service charge.

The dessert was the only decent thing..

Christmas do last night at this restaurant. I have to say we are all in the office today saying how much of a let down the experience was. The food was very average and the service poor. I have to say this is a venue where the proprietor takes a very central stage. This venue exists because people pay good money to have an experience to remember and not be ripped off. Six average bottles of beer Sir - that will be thirty five quid.
