Popped with a mate to catch up with a friend and his colleague tonight. Lovely setting and ambience. As we were sitting down me and my friend were rather forcefully advised that we needed to order 'at least a starter' if we were drinking, due to their licence. Right. So we all looked at the menu and we chose a selection to share, as two of us were only going to stay for a bit. Apparently two 'Nibbles' at £4.25 don't count, whereas 4 Starters at £4.50 do, thus satisfying the licence. Amazing how the council can differentiate between nibbles and starters. On ordering, we were confronted by another waitress telling us we needed to order sufficient starters for us to stay. We advised her we'd ordered the meze sharing plate, which we'd been told counted for two starters, plus another starter. Apparently not. Another chap arrived and told us we had to order sufficient food. By now, we were getting pretty angry at the way we were being treated, like we shouldn't even have been there. It was not an enjoyable exerience, more like the Spanish inquisition. My friends ordered two mains and I left with the mate I arrived with, as we were only ever coming in to say hello.

Appreciate there are regulations, but the way these guys informed their rule was a complete joke and in no way respectful or polite. Food was great though. But in no way will we be returning.

This is the first time I have ever written a review of this type. I feel compelled to write after a day in London, when I happened on Bill's Store. It looked nice so 3 of us went in for lunch. The manageress was very helpful and friendly and went that extra mile for us, when we said we were hot and bothered.

We were going to a matinee after lunch and I met other friends after the show and took them back to Bill's, where we got a very warm greeting and extra special treatment as it was a return visit, I had skewered chicken and it was superb. Many thanks to the lady from Radyr.
