If you are looking for an indian restaurant with a very big twist, i would suggest going to Rasoi. The interior is just superb! The cutlery is very imaginative, however the food was slightly disappointing. This is an indian restaurant which is trying to do a bit too much! The food is so distant from realy authentic indian food that i would actually call this a modern european restaurant. The food is nice, without a doubt, however this is not an Indian restaurant. I asked for nan bread, and got nan with basil! Basil is not an indian spice and does not go (and never will go) with indian food - i asked the waiters to get me a nan with corriander on it! On a good note, the food is great and very imaginative, the service is attentive - the staff tend to tip-toe around the customers so you dont notice them! The staff also take criticism and set backs in their stride - where there is usually an arrogance with indian restuarants, this one lacks that arrogance. I would highly recommend booking a table in advance, and would also recommend this for couples and small groups. The indian tea ice cream with chocolate samosa was divine!! And i would also strongly recommend going for the 7-course gourmet dining option! Although this is a little pricey, it is worth the extra pennies for a memorable night.

Fantastic, innovative food in lovely setting. I thought it was all delicious, with the weakest dish being the first: a slightly underwhelming scallop with some sort of dal (please forgive my ignorance!). The rest was superb, particularly the quail with tamarind and any dish that combines chocalte with samosa with such success gets my vote any day.

I love the room too: very intimate and tastefully decorated and I thought the service was charming and very competent. I certainly don't agree that the waitors' English was poor either. Although as we were presented with cool towels upon arriving in order to wipe our fevered brows they probably could have communicated in grunts and I'd still have been charmed!

Had the pleasure of being taken to this restaurant on a school night a couple of weeks ago. A lover of real indian food; I was a little sceptical of the moody lighting and stylish interior. This was soon forgottn as we embarked on a three-way tasting of the a la carte menu, which turned up some real treats. The atmosphere was lively for a Wednseday. The staff attentive, but occasionally clumsy. The wine list and sommelier were equally brilliant, some of the alsatian and german wines are rare and very very special. We were given a third bottle on the house! We will definately be going back (as long as I'm not paying!).

I was worried was going to be a little formal but actually the staff were very personable. It's a lovely restaurant, I love the decor very much. The restaurant it tucked into a chelsea townhouse so very private and intimate. We had the mixed starter and when it was finished I just wanted to order it all over again. Amazing. The lobster main and the chicken - well just exceptional. One of the nicest meals I've had in a long time

Had the 7 course tasting menu which was very enjoyable. All courses were well prepared and presented and tasted fantastic, the lobster being the highlight for me. The decor needs rethinking and the lighting is very poor but I think the whole table were generally very happy. Very expensive though.

Had a fantastic meal on friday night

Had the gourmand menu and it was probably the meal of the year for me. Subtle spicing, perfectly balanced.

Extremely enjoyable

Outstanding, imaginative, unique and truly scumptious food. This restaurant is not for the Madras and lager brigade. This restaurant elevates Indian food to a level very rarely encountered. The Lobster, Mushroom Khichdi, Lamb with Morels were all truly wonderful. In fact each dish on the Gourmand menu was truly unique and exceptional. Try it and taste Indian food at a level seldom seen.
