Monday, July 16, 2012 - The dish is brought to a beautiful tabletop hibachi grill, its sides decorated with poetic Japanese calligraphy. As the charcoal glows, the hoba leaf diffuses the heat. The beef is marinated in miso and grilled before being cut and placed to show the red meat inside. The scorched leaf is served open, to show the shimeji mushroom and spring onion garnish. It's a good piece of table theatre, with almost autumnal flavours. Simple dishes such as sashimi are also artfully presented, in this case on a bed of twigs over ice. The edges of the fish were razor sharp, the flesh firm not flabby. The most discerning Japanese diner would approve, as the quality was impeccable.

I went for lunch. It was authentic Japanese and good food. (I am Japanese) I think sushi set is very good value. Although I had steak set. I would go back there again.

Lovely new Japanese restaurant in Camden. So pleased we tried it! Service was very sweet and friendly and the food was great. Sushi platters looked very fresh and generous but we stuck with hot dishes and had some great tempura, chicken karaage and crispy panko prawns. The tempura batter was particularly good, very light, and the homemade chicken gyoza were delicious. They have a good selection of sake and the meal was excellent value. Looking forward to going back. There are still very few decent places to eat in Camden but this is one we would definitely recommend. Perfect for dinner with friends or date nights.

We had a great experience at this newly opened Japanese restaurant near the top of Parkway. The menu and service is very authentic, the ingredients are high quality and presentation perfect. Good value too.

Good variety and selection of Japanese food without an overwhelming menu. What top it for me was they served Uni in their Assorted Sashimi. I have never seen a Japanese restaurant do this. Everything we ordered from tempura, sashimi to the hot dishes was very good.

Excellent food, beautiful presentation and a very substantial sake menu. Also very reasonably priced if you don't sample all their sake. :-)

Would definitely go back again.

I think this place is fantastic - delicious Japanese food (owner from Kyoto) which includes lots of unusual items and seasonal specials. We've been twice (back for a third time tonight) and had great belly pork, salmon belly, sushi rolls with uni, kimchi, tempura, tofu etc etc. Very fresh fish and high quality sushi rice. Really good cold sake selection (lived in Japan so acquired taste for this). Lovely warm room (slate and wood) and beautiful Japanese ceramics. As we live locally we are really keen for it to do well - it only opened 3 weeks ago.
