I completely agree with the reviews below. Great food and friendly service, but..
We went there on a Friday night and there isn't a no smoking area. We were sandwiched between two tables full of people smoking. We'll definately go back but after 1st July!

what a brilliant find. We went in for a meal on Wed and loved it. Staff were friendly. Good wine, lovely food - could not recommend it more for an unpretentious, wholesome eat.

Love it! Alway brilliant service, food and a good choice menu (especially for vegies!) Tucked away just off Battersea Rise, with a lovely back conservatory which has a real tree inside and a few monkey's hiding away.....

I have visited Scoffers on two occasions now. The first occasion was during the summer and the second occasion was for a family meal to celebrate my birthday.
I do like the atmosphere in Scoffers - it is quite laid back, but full of local people and completely unpretentious. The staff are also extremely attentive.
I thought the food that I ate on this occasion was good, but by no means excellent. The starter of fishcakes was adequate (a bit dry), but the Parma ham/mozarella salad was a better option.
For the main course we all had beef stroganoff, which was very tasty but big on rice and short on meat.
The big disappointment was the pudding. I chose sticky tofee pudding, which had clearly just come out of the microwave and was really cold in the middle. I also made a fairly simple request of having custard with my dessert, but I was told that, I couldn't have this unless I forgo the toffee sauce. Assuming that toffee pudding without the sticky sauce would be fairly bland, I asked to pay extra for the custard, which would have been fine had it been home made, or even a good equivalent, but it was definitely Ambrosia!
I will probably go back to Scoffers but for a casual meal with close friends and not for a special occasion.

Best restaurant I have been to in a long time. Fresh and clearly home cooked food at very reasonble prices. Had a table in the conservatory which was packed and had a wonderful buzzy atmosphere. Totally unpretentious place and had a super evening.

WoW! I hadn't been here for about 4 years. But it is better than ever! The chef is amazing! My starter of chorizo and squid was out of this world. The best most melt-in-the-mouth squid I have ever tasted. The main course didn't disappoint either - gorgeous tender lam rack - and the chef even agreed to my request to substitute accompaniments. We had a lovely drop of wine and even some port and desert wine - all of which were perfect. Th waiter migth have been a teensy bit less frosty but my friend and I had such a ggod time anyway, it wasn't really an issue. The conservatory and tree are still as cute as ever. But the cosy front area (and the lovely secret nook - ideal for secret rendevous) are the best.
Vive Scoffers!

Had a really disappointing meal here last night.
Had an ostrich steak that a steak knife could get through and at £15 a pop I'd expect something tender enough to not even use a steak knife. My other half had the fillet steak which came with frozen chips - so much for the everything being home made comment elsewhere on this site. The steak wasn't all that either - for another couple of quid we could have - should have - gone to The Gaucho Grill and had a fantastic steak.
In fairness the waiting staff were excellent and when I demonstrated the tenacity of my steak I was offred a different dish or free desserts and coffee. Unfortunately, by this point we just wanted to get out of there and declined. The charge for my main was then removed from the bill without my asking.
Good effort but not, I'm afraid, enough to make me return when there are so many excellent restaurants in the vicinity.
