The worst mussels I have ever had. Slow service. A side order never arrived. When I pointed out these issues out I was made to feel terrible. A real shame.

What a turn around this place had, the food is much much better, aparently they have a new chef team in, it was the best thing they done because before it was really bad food and very slow service..... It's nice to see this great place back to life

Now just keep it up ! Well done !

Awful. Slow service. Poor food. What baffles me is how they can fail to serve drinks to diners. We wanted to drink and eat but left sober. And hungry.

It took 20 minutes for drinks to arrive. My friends tell me their food was ok, but my chicken was awful. Overcooked but cold is not a good combination. Bread served as a starter was stale. Drinks when they arrived were wrong. Bill when it arrived was wrong. Avoid.

I work for a large company nearby and have been there on several occasions. Every time I have been for lunch, I regret it. the food is average, and the service terribly slow.

Don't go if you'd like a quick lunch, it'll take you over 15 mins to get your drink and food order even taken.

I have also on occasion had to telephone my guests' orders through, sadly this didnt help at all. :(

Someone from my workplace suggested going this lunchtime, I advised against it, but they went anyway and I'm sad to say The Weir didn't dissappoint, slow service and confused menu once again. Oh well there is always the italian round the corner.

We visited the Weir for a celebration family dinner on the eve of our son's wedding. From the moment we arrived, the manager made us feel most welcome and he and his team looked after us all extremely well throughout the evening. Nothing was a trouble and the service was friendly and efficient, our meals being served together to all at the table with just the right interval between courses. The food itself - including lamb, chicken, fish, vegetarian risotto for main course - was truly excellent in every respect and everyone, age range 14months - 65+, had a really wonderful evening.

We hope to visit again before too long. In the meantime, a huge 'thankyou' to all at the Weir........it was a memorable evening!

What a shame... the last time we visited the weir (3 weeks ago) it was great, good and timely service and lovely food.

We arranged to meet some friends for Sunday lunch, they really did not want to go as they had a bad experience in the past but we assured them it had changed and was really good.

How wrong could we be. We arrived late and our friends were tucking into their Sunday roasts and did politely say that it was not that great but were in no way blaming us.

We had starters which were great, I ignored the rather limp rocket on my plate and ate the rest which was great. Roast beef came for both of us. My beef was good but my partners was raw and full of fat there was hardly anything edible. Potatoes were overdone with a really nasty flavour and the other veg were a joke. Nuked carrots. Raw broccoli and a very sorry excuse for a cauliflower cheese - raw califlower with some cheese melted on top. I was all so horrible that neither of us could eat our meals.

The waitress was apologetic and said that the manager would come and speak to us. He didn't! We were left feeling like troublemakers and were totally ignored by staff. We ended up going up to the bar to pay and although we did not have to pay for our main meal, the manager just ignored us and said nothing .Had he have had the courage to speak to us and apologise we may have felt we would give The Wier another chance. But as we were made to feel that it was our fault and ignored we will not be returning and we will not be recommending this to anyone that we know. The only way that I will return is when I find out it is under new managment.
