We found that price was average but the food somewhat bland. The meals tend to lean on the sauces for flavor rather than the main ingredient, eg a prawn dish which had THREE prawns in it!

One of the better Wagamama efforts. There is a feeling of openness with the glass wall looking onto the street. This improved the atmosphere for me.
But the other aspects of the restaurant remain more or less the same. This is a chain, after all.
The service is still pretty efficient and you know you're getting slightly better-than-average food. But it's on my way home after work so it often fills the comfort-food gap. And the price is possibly a bit steep for the package, but I'm happy to be a repeat customer.

I'm not a fan. Standard Wagamama format of rapid service, randomly arriving food (you are forewarned on the menu) and food prepared without enthusiasm. It's a nice situation with the big glass window onto the street and during busy times it's got a pleasant conversation buzz.
The food is just so average. It looks okay at first glance but you get the feeling that the chef never tastes it. Meats are bland and soups/sauces are nothing to write home about. The high-light of my meal was the carrot juice that I had with it.

I've been to Wagamama many times over the years. Overall it's a good formula and the concept works but the ramen soup noodle could be so much better than it is, especially for the price. Ordered the wagamama ramen the other evening. Looks good in the bowl with everything arranged nicely but the dish is completely soulless. The noodles were pasty and not cooked properly (soft, yet raw), the stock is just generic from a cube or concentrate and the other ingredients are look OK but flavour is disappointing.
The gyoza dumplings are more successful as well as some of the other noodle and rice dishes but the ramen dishes which is what it was founded on, are very mediocre.
I remember having ramen in Tokyo in a tiny place on the side of the street that we just found by chance and can still remember how good it was, years later. That's the standard.
