Ah good stuff. As you come in the noise level hits you as you are given a warm slightly hammed up italian style welcome. The service is very efficient (the staff, who are great in numbers, are well used to a packed service), the portions are gargantuan (you'll only ever order starters the first time you go) and the food is authentic, with the menu offering dizzying choice plus daily specials.

Very noisy and full of kids, and as it gets later it tends to get a bit stifling in the smoking section near the ovens. Also birthdays involve allot of staff banging saucepans, which can become annoying if there's more than one birthday. A robust, cheap and cheerful energetic place, good for dinner with mates, maybe not for a romantic diner a deux.

Absolutely love this restaurant. The food and staff are fantastic. Love the Pizza especially the italian sausage (bosciolla, I think).

Also good for kids. We've now moved from Stroud Green but we still can't stop going even if it means a bit of a trek.

The pizza's are lush (as are the waiting staff). The pasta is perfect (esp the tagliatelli with italian sausage, porchini and white wine). The atmosphere is alive.. and sparkling! My children LOVE it there, and are made so welcome.. we all have such fun, and literally cannot wait to go back. Unrivalled value for money, the best cheap night out for all the family.. with fabulous food! Camden is closer to me coming from Hampstead, but the Stroud Green restaurant is my favorite, Islington coming second! Go, go.. go, you will not regret it! A little taste of real Italy.

Always enjoyable and reliable and great value for money with enormous portions. Friendly staff and tasty pizzas. The tray banging and singing for the six birthdays a night can get a little hard on the head, as can the EuroPop, but that's all part of the fun, as are the occaisional dough fights and chair dancing.

La Porchetta Finsbury Park is the best out of the chain. I love the variety of food, but my favourite is the mussels. Lovely taste. Although you might wait for over half an hour for your food at busy times, the food is definately the wait. The staff are also very friendly and thier range of deserts are perfect. My family and I recommend La Porchetta, Finsbury Park

The best Italian restaurant i think i've ever been to. I went for a birthday party and the staff made us feel so welcome and happy. It would have been boring without them.

As for the food. I had the mushroom tortelini. I'm not joking it was like a bowl of heaven. All the food there is perfect. Love it. If i could eat there everynight I would.
