After reading such good reviews, 3 of us went to Mosob on a Saturday night at the end of October. We booked ahead (which was worthwhile as it soon filled up) and were sat at our table, prompty served for drinks by Benjamin (one of the family who's restaurant it is) and settled in to browse the menu. A great range of food was on offer and after a few minutes, Benjamin came over, found out what we liked and didn't and then offered some very useful menu advice and ordered us our dinner.

A fabulous range of food came out, all served up on the Injera pancakes. This was our second African meal in around a month and the flavours, quality and environment here were head and shoulders above what we had last time. We thought last time was good, but Mosob really impressed us! Each dish had a superb flavour, the lamb and okra was superb, the dried meat and injera was filling and really quite pleasingly spicy, the lamb stew was rich and warming. A side of vegetable with chickpea, spinach and lentils was also superb.

I can't reccomend this place enough. If you want something that's quite different to the the norm in both flavour and environment, go there, take the advice on the menu that they'll give you because they know what they're talking about and enjoy yourself. Drink the local beer too (that's not on the menu) it's superb - a bit like a white beer, it's delicious!

We too were ushered into the back room after our food for more drinks, a shisha, some coffee and to look at the book about Eritrea.

Outsanding value, the best service, fantastic food. Well worth a visit, I can't wait to go again and hope it isn't booked up when I do go!

Five of us went to Mosob last night and it is one of the best restuarants I have been to in London. It is a complete dining experience. The staff are so friendly and relaxed and the food is divine. The staff chatted to us about the food, Eritrian culture, history etc and showed us a book about the architecture in the capital city. They are genuinely friendly people who are very proud of thier country and want to share it with others. After our meal we wine into another room where there are comfortable, intimate tables and sofas and we drank mint tea and coffee and smoked shisha. Our dinner came to less that £100 for 5 of us and we had 3 beers each, 4 starters and 5 mains plus tea/coffee and 2 shisha!! So you have to drink a lot to get to the 'average price' recommended! We are all definatley going back again!

What a gem of a place! Even if you don't want to eat, Mosob offers a unique African experience - from the moment you step inside. African music and decor take you immediately away from the stresses of London to the heart of an Eritrean's family house. But the best part is food. If you like me really appreciate simple, delicious, homemade, fresh, no-fuss food, this is the place. After a selection of beautifully spiced up starters, the main course (that is shared) arrives served on a plate of milk-free, pancake-like wraps covered by the toppings of your choice - veg, beef, lamb etc. But beware, the table manners are very important - strictly fingers (definitely no licking) and that is - the right hand only. It takes a bit of a practice, but it is great fun... End your meal with the mint tea or freshly ground coffee, and if you want to relax even further - the best shisha in town.

we have been using this restaurant every Saturday, and what a discovery, everything about this restaurant is like a sponge of culture to absorb and they are more than happy to take time to talk you through the dishes and the atmosphere is so welcoming and relaxing.
