We had a really great night at Mosob. Great food, good music and a really friendly atmosphere. The hosts are very nice and take time to chat about Eritrea, food, music etc. They were also very accommodating to us with our little baby - nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this to others - a gem at a very reasonable price.

An excellent place to sit and have a nice long meal and talk with friends. We sat in the back and Ben made sure that everything was taken care of. There were four of us and we each made a choice of starter and main. The starters are non-traditional and really, given the size of the main are needed but the are delicious. The mains are served on a large injera covered tray, all together so everyone can share. The staff will make good suggestions, like they did with us when they saw we were ordering four meat dishes, Ben suggested replacing one with veg.

As I said before the food is excellent, the staff great, the coffee superb, and they also had no problems when we tried to set the table on fire by knocking over the burner during coffee.

The meal came to £20 per person, starter, main, 2-3 drinks each, and coffee.

Excellent place!

I have to agree with the consensus of opinion on Mosob. The service was very friendly, efficient, and warm, and the food was great. The best Eritrean I've had in London for sure.

An unforgettable experience. Should you be so unfortunate as to ignore this magnificent and (very) ancient civilisation, fear not, the staff is friendly and will gladly introduce you to Eritrean culture (just ask for the book on Eritrea…). Luckily, good food not only is universal but also supersedes cultural barriers and at Mosob food is simply divine. This is a family business and you will get homemade food. Trust me, you will notice it from the minute you put that first piece of injera in your mouth. The staff is among the friendliest I met in London and (very important) the menu price is reasonable. I almost feel guilty about writing this review, I want to keep this piece of East Africa all for myself…

What a rare treat. The atmosphere was so warrm and welcoming that we both felt as if we had been asked to dinner rather than going out to a restaurant. Everyone that came in for supper was greeted like old friends. Benyan was so charming and so enthusiastic about Eritrea, about us, and about introducing us to the food from his country. His mother cooked it all and we felt so pleased and lucky to be there enjoying it. We will go again soon and bring the whole family. Such a relief after all of the trendy predicatable restaurants of London today. Many thanks Pam and Tim

Where can I begin. This place ouzes with excellence, from the staff to the scenerey. Mums two boys do a great job of greeting and seating. As well as their interest in your opinions. For a 22 yr old born in London-Eritrean, many restaurants like this place do not appeal to me. But as for Mosob, their aquaintance with the young (sensible) crowd as well as their accomodation for the older generation make this place a winner.

The food is great value for money and tastes impecable. Waiting time is minimal and drinks are reasonably priced. 5 full stomachs with 6 drinks AND a bottle of wine did not exceed £40...happy days!

This place cannot be faltered and I recommend it for anyone going alone or with friend/lover. Mosob caters for all.

Mosob is a treat. Really friendly guys in there. Lots of regulars who are known to the staff, you really feel like you could come in and just have a beer and a chat at the bar. Spinach starters are exquisite – no other word. Eritrean beer is good. For mains we had two varieties of lamb stew, both were excellent. So, three beers, one starter and two mains, all for £23! Check this place out; it really is one of the best places you will find to eat in London (IMHO).

Very enjoyable experience, great value for money, friendly staff, good vibe, cool tunes, recommend the local eritrean beer.

So the plan is that of a sharing type menu. Starters were rather dull though the samosas were spicy and tasty.

Then a large silver platter arrives and our waiter cleverly and delicately arranges your chosen dishes into a collage of colour and taste over the thin sponge like bread that covers the platter. No cutlery so you dive in and scoop the bread up taking the meat or veg with. Only problem is you are eating your own and your friends simultaneously but it works.

Spiced tea afterwards works well.

This last week I returned to Mosob since my first time eating there a little over a year ago. Since then I have tried other Eritrean restaurants around London, some of which were better than others. Mosob still wins out, not only with excellent food, but a warm, friendly atmosphere that is unmatched.

Daniel, the middle brother of the family, greeted us when we arrived and gave us a place in the back room, a cosy and private space. He also help guide through the menu, and we trusted his suggestions. We had a spinach starter and two different vegetarian meals with the Injera. The meals were wonderfully spiced and included a mixture of lentils, chickpeas, and more spinach. Although there is a great selection of meat dishes, which I remember from my last visit, the vegetarian meal was one of the best. The portions were well sized and no one left hungry or unsatisfied!

The greatest part about Mosob, apart from the food, is the way you are made to feel a part of the family. It is a family establishment and they treat you as if you are a guest in their home. The only thing I’m sorry I missed was the music that has become part of their weekends.

Wonderful food, outstanding service, and a great value all around!

After reading such good reviews, 3 of us went to Mosob on a Saturday night at the end of October. We booked ahead (which was worthwhile as it soon filled up) and were sat at our table, prompty served for drinks by Benjamin (one of the family who's restaurant it is) and settled in to browse the menu. A great range of food was on offer and after a few minutes, Benjamin came over, found out what we liked and didn't and then offered some very useful menu advice and ordered us our dinner.

A fabulous range of food came out, all served up on the Injera pancakes. This was our second African meal in around a month and the flavours, quality and environment here were head and shoulders above what we had last time. We thought last time was good, but Mosob really impressed us! Each dish had a superb flavour, the lamb and okra was superb, the dried meat and injera was filling and really quite pleasingly spicy, the lamb stew was rich and warming. A side of vegetable with chickpea, spinach and lentils was also superb.

I can't reccomend this place enough. If you want something that's quite different to the the norm in both flavour and environment, go there, take the advice on the menu that they'll give you because they know what they're talking about and enjoy yourself. Drink the local beer too (that's not on the menu) it's superb - a bit like a white beer, it's delicious!

We too were ushered into the back room after our food for more drinks, a shisha, some coffee and to look at the book about Eritrea.

Outsanding value, the best service, fantastic food. Well worth a visit, I can't wait to go again and hope it isn't booked up when I do go!
