Maki Yaki

I have been an avid and constant fan of Maki Yaki for the last 2 and a half years, since first eating there. Having a incurable hunger for all things sushi i have been to places like Zuma and other 5 star restaurants that serve the highest calibre of Japanese cuisine. Maki Yaki excels itself in its very own way and i can honestly say i have never had sushi like it in my life. The variety and combination of flavours and creativity is incredible. The service is acceptable and the price moderate to high. Problem is you want to eat so much more then normal to try everything is becomes costly.

Food ok - but note that it is a Korean-run place, not an authentic Japanese restaurant. Innovative sushi menu but there are gaps vs real Japanese places, e.g. tempura doesn't come with daikon radish for the sauce and they didn't understand what I was asking for; or for shabu-shabu, they didn't bring the customary udon noodles for the soup at the end, and we were shocked to be charged extra for a little more rice. That was an expensive meal!
