TimeOut

TimeOut - 4/5

Wednesday, July 25, 2012 - Meera's thalis are served in shiny dishes on steel trays and all, in the true Indian way, are all-you-can eat. When you finish a dish the waiter tops it up until you ask him to stop. We were delighted with the spread: spicy chickpea stews, rich dahls and sambhar (spicy lentil soup) with slightly sour notes of tamarind...No alcohol is served, and this being a 'pure vegetarian' Indian restaurant, no eggs are used either. But to drink try the wonderful chass (buttermilk), which has a slightly salty tang of cumin, or the thicker, richer lassi drinks. Best of all, a meal here is around £15 per head, or less if you visit at lunch-time.
