This is one of my favourite pubs ever! My boyfriend and I have spent many a cosy Sunday in the winter here. I also went with some friends for a birthday dinner there and the food was delicious and the staff were delightful. Go on the Rye!!

This pub is not very good at all!

The least welcoming pub I have EVER been. On a sunday we had to wait 2 and a half hours for a roast and about an hour for some olives and bread - RIDICULOUS! But what is even more ridiculous is that we didn't get an apology. Any attempts of a complaint were met with a scowl and I would go as far to say that me and my fiends were scared of the manager who was just really rude.

I went back for a drink more recently - it was really quiet and two people were behind the bar - seemingly pottering around. They didn't acknowledge I was there and made me wait 5 minutes. A very silly place indeed.

I love the Rye Hotel, the atmosphere is great, it's reasonably priced and I've never had a bad meal (of which I've had quite a few!). The bar snacks are lovely (spring rolls!), as are the roast dinners ... I had the veggie roast, which is delicious and my friend had the roast chicken, which for about £11 for half a chicken was pretty good value. The saturday brunches are also great, the food's lovely and the portions are really big. Oh, and I had the chocolate orange pudding after dinner the other day, definitely worth a try, it's so good!

When I've been the staff have always been extremely helpful and friendly.

Although it's in a random part of Peckham, it's well worth a visit.

Really lovely pub during the day and evening. Very child friendly for mums and dads meeting up during the week and a lovely atmosphere for sunday lunch. We have taken lots of guests here and never been disappointed. The roast lunch is fab! Great pub garden in the summer.

Went to the Rye last night, six of us, struggled to get a table as was fairly busy- suggest that they offer some kind of booking system or at least find seats fairly for everyone. Food was great, service was really good, pleasant staff, as ever, good atmosphere.

I really like the Rye, have been coming here on and off for a few years now and have only ever been disappointed once. It's a great place that needs to be supported

The Rye has so much going for it- great food, lovely atmosphere- a really cozy place on a winter evening and great garden outside in the summer. However, almost every time I go the service lets it down.

They often seem understaffed at the bar and food seems to take a really long time to come out. Once I asked how long my food would be as I'd been waiting for 45 minutes, and they came back and corrected me- it's only been 40 minutes ACTUALLY.....I had said it in the nicest possible way and they weren't busy at all- I'm just not sure the staff have ever had any customer service training. I have also been overcharged a number of times, with no apology forthcoming when we have queried the bill.

A great place overall but I just wish the staff were as nice as the owners there- a little customer service training and attention to detail would make a world of difference.

The Rye is a fantastic pub with great food! Very busy on Sat and Sunday so on those days expect to wait a while for food but the food is always good and the atmosphere and people are fab. Plus the staff very friendly. This has been my local for nearly 2 years and I highly recommend it. Funky decor/ gastro vibe etc etc

Having had a huge house party for B/day on Saturday 29/09/2007, I decided to take my mates who had stayed over ,for lunch at the Rye, it came highly recommended by a number of people. How embarrasing for me. Firstly, the service was pretty poor, but hey, no problem, there is good food to be had by all. but oh was I wrong.

Secondly, we had to ask 3 times for our meal, once going to the kitchen. We waited about an hour an a half for our food, I had the roast lamb, which for £11, is taking the Mick. There were no aplogies from staff. So all in all, very dissappointing. I am one to give a second chance, but they really need to sort the staff and kitchen or face falling apart at the seams, and that is quite evident already.

I have been to the Rye on numerous occasions and I have to say that I have always enjoyed it. The staff is friendly, they have a beautiful garden and patio at the back that comes really handy in summer and a very well decorated and very causy interior that I enjoy a lot in winter.

The food I think is very tasty and the menu varied as opposed to many pubs around and if you have had a bad experience once, it does not mean this place is rubbish and that you should not go there!!!

I too want to defend the reputation of the Rye Hotel as it is my local and one of the best pubs around Peckham Rye I think!
