I get a takeaway vegetarian lunchbox from here pretty much every week (for an amazing £3!), which is consistently good. The lentil dal is sometimes runny, and the rice isn't always brilliant, but the vegetable curry and chana masala are good too - and on balance it's always a delicious, cheap meal. Other dishes that I've eaten when sitting down have also been good - not amazing, but certainly good enough, and reasonably priced. the staff are very friendly - not over-attentive, in my view, but that's a matter of taste.

Arriving half an hour late for our booking we were made to feel very welcome and not reproached for our tardiness at all. The waiters were friendly and the service good but not intrusive.
The food was excellent and the portion size, while not enormous, was certainly enough to satisfy even our greediest diner.
I'll certainly be up for a return visit.

This place is not recommended. The curries are over-priced and watery in my opinion. One does not leave feeling substantially fulfilled. I had a pumpkin curry and the pumpkin was old and fibrous. Staff were relatively friendly, and yes, over-attentive. This unfortunately is no consolation for the poor quality of the food. Rice came in scanty portions. Atmosphere is average here - really quite busy but nice ambience on a quieter night I expect.

I booked a table of 10 there for a work Christmas dinner and was very impressed by both the service and the meal.
A few people had to leave early for meetings and our waiter made sure they were served first, which was very helpful.
It's not the most glamorous restaurant on Charlotte Street, but if you want a good, old fashioned, non-fancy curry then I'd recommend it!

For me this was a sort-of 'run-of-the-mill' indian restaurant. I didn't have any complaints as such (apart from the staff being over-attentive) but probably wouldn't recommend to others to go there.
