I don't really think there is a great deal that I can add, given that previous reviewers have provided such glowing testimonies.

I have been to Japanese restaurants that have marginally more adventurous and varied menus, but none that provide such excellent service (often an issue with Japanese eateries in London) and value for money.

No gripes about the quality of the food either. If you're in the area, visit!

This is a great place, fantastic family run eatery. Try the Cali maki, Futo Maki, Tom yum soup (amazing!) and Pad thai...that is basically a list of everything I eat when I visit and I'm always content! Plus wash it down with plenty of warm Saki. This is not cheap but woah is it fun to drink!

I'm a big fan of Ichiban too and go there quite often when I'm in Brixton. The tempura prawns are fantastic and as for the main course Tom Yum soup.... Mmmm, it's making me hungry thinking about it!

Definitely worth a visit.

Ichiban is a fantastic resaurant! The food is fresh, fast and friendly, and such good value it's quite astounding. Visit Ichiban for a wonderfully tasty, beautifully prepared Japanese feed...you'll leaving feeling oh so happy!

Went last night before seeing Massive Attack at the Academy. I am still trying to decide whether the restaurant or the gig was the highlight of the night as they were both excellent. As far as the restaurant goes, food good, service prompt and prices reasonable. Only slight complaint is that if you are right next to the door it isn't half cold when someone comes in (which happens a lot as they seem to have a good takeaway trade).

I love Ichiban. It's easily my favourite restaurant in the area. Great food - sushi and noodles and rice dishes and tempura - and really unpretentious. I would eat here every day if I could.

Ichiban is one of our favourite restaurants ever, and if you want to taste a delicious authentic Japanese meal you really have to try it! Trust us - it's worth the journey to Brixton!

I highly recommend the Tori-Kara Age, Yaki Tori and Horenso Gomae as well as the freshest and tastiest sushi in town.

It's so good that even Japanese restaurants we tried in the far east could not compare!
