Having been to this place a few times, it seems to be hit or miss with the service. The food has always been top drawer, and particularly enjoy the atmosphere for a quiet social evening with good friends.

On my last visit, having endured dismal service at a bar close by for a pre dinner apéritif, I was rather expecting the usual great service I have come to expect. Instead we were seated and welcomed by several waiters, who would just hover.

We order a bottle of wine and water, whilst we decide on our selection for tapas, our drinks arrive minus the bottle of red. Having informed the watier no less than three times and still sitting there with just a bottle of water and some but not all of our tapas, I lose my cool and take action.

After a direct discussion with the manager on duty, our wine arrives as does the rest of the food. I am left with the excuse that the staff are new and our order got lost. It actually seemed that some of the staff were foreign and spoke little english, not good!

The food itself has always been great , and I have always enjoyed the selection on every visit. Some complain that the portions are small even for tapas. I would say that they are adequate if you order a selection of 4-5 for two.

That said, the service for the rest of the evening picked up, and we enjoyed the type of service and atmosphere that I am used to here. We were even greeted with complimentary liqueurs for the poor initial experience.

Start with the good-the food. Lovely Lovely Lovely. Some portions a bit on the small side others quite generous-a bit of a gamble.

And now for the bad-atmosphere. Well there isn't any, decor and lay out make it feel like an airport lounge.

Cocktails-terrible. For the prices-not astronomical, normal central London prices but you still expect a certian level of quality when paying £9 for a drink.

Good food but there are plenty of good tapas places in London where you can probably get the full package also.

Worst restaurant I have ever been to. The food is not good, and the portions ridiculously small. When I complained about the portions the waiter told me that this restaurant is so famous that it does not need to serve good food. Whatever…bad service, bad food and completely overpriced…The sangria is also the worst I have ever had!!!

This restaurant is completely overrated...we ordered sangria and it was the worst I have ever had in my life. The tapas were more or less ok, but the portions ridiculously small. We ended up paying 18£ for 2 tapas and a small glass of sangria each. We complained about the small portions and the waiters’ reply was that this restaurant is very famous, so the food does not need to be that good…

If you want to avoid paying loads of money for a bad meal then do not go to Meza!!!!

Singularly the worst dining experience I have had in years. Rude, surly service and lousy food when they did eventually manage to bring it.

I went to Meza for my girlfriends 26th birthday - lots of choice in London for such a special occasion, but being quite cash conscience (tight), i decided on tapas- a good choice... I was surprised that I hadn't stumbled across Meza before, given it's ideal location in the heart of Soho - Our waiteress was friendly and knew everything about the menu. We even had a wee tipple of sherry (not something I'd usually try) - around 11pm, a DJ came on and turned our intimate candle-lit dinner into an informal, laid back friday night out. I'd definitely recommend it to everyone I know (mum's going there for her birthday) Good job Meza!

I would totally recommend Meza for the nice atmosphere, the cocktails and the service. The food is okay but enough is enough with fried food ! However, they have great paellas and dishes to share. It's very friendly but be sure to come before 9pm if you're looking for a quiet time.

I've read some really poor reviews about this restaurant, but the first time we went there with my wife, everything was absolutely delightful. Especially thanks to the waiter, a friendly french young man. He was spectacular from begining to end. Funny, polite, attentive and gave us some great suggestions for food and wine. We came back twice for the cocktails and for him. We weren't that lucky the third time as we could not find our favourite waiter in London but the cocktails were great (as usual, better be, cause pricey) and the deal menu was also very good.

As any other place, you might be there the wong day but most of it never fails.

Went to Meza last Friday with a group of friends (6 of us 50/50 men and women). Had read to mixed review so was not sure what to expect.

My girl friend and I arrived just after 9pm (running a little late as always) and we was greeted by two lovely smiling hostesses. They brought us through the already packed bar & restaurant down on our friends who was there already.

As pre drinks we had 2 large jugs sangria, they tasted great but they were quite strong I thing, had not had sangria before.

The waiter took our food order and in very friendly manner and unlike many other places he repeated back the order to make sure that he had remembered every thing (great touch since many places you end up with the wrong think).

Food was lovely and biggish portions and I didn’t have room for dessert but went straight for the huge cocktail list.

Didn’t know this before we came but they had this fantastic Dj on and it became more of a bar after 10.30pm(every thursday-saturday) and people were dancing every where and looking to be enjoying the groove. Well I/we did and will be back very soon again because atmosphere, food and drinks was just great for a fun night out!
