Went here last night on the Conran classic experience voucher...I don't know why people complain about the music here I thought the beats were pretty phat! Meza is definitely in that club/bar/restaurant bracket though so make sure you know what to expect. Service wasn't great but our waiter was pretty new - it was very quiet which is probably why they put him on (mid week night.) Overall I thought it was a good feed, good vibe, nice wine list.

Had an excellent night in Meza. It is a great bar with cool cocktails at a great price. They had a special menu going with drinks on it at only £5 each. After a couple the waiter got us to come up to the bar and actually showed us how to make them too - this was included in th cost of the drinks and was a great bonus.

Will go back at the end of this week as the waiter told us about a very interesting promotion based on the Olympics. Where we as drinkers can play games and win prizes. Sounds very fun!

Meza - Classic Dining Experience for Two

The restaurant was virtually empty & the food was very poor. Yesterday my wife and I visted Meza using a Conran Classic Dining Experience for Two gift voucher.

We were offered a choice of 5 tapas and a dessert each.

The potatos bravas wedges (potato wedges with tomato sauce) were undercooked, the tortilla was stale and seemed to contain tinned vegetables. Only the marinaded feta and the choriza which required no cooking and very little culinery intervention were ok.

It was lunchtime & empty. I would avoid like the plague - the only upside is that as it waas a gift voucher we didn't pay for the experience.

The food was alright - ice-cream and panna cotta were good, the moroccon cous-cous was nice.

I really don't like the atmosphere though, it's got a very seedy feel to it. We were there for saturday lunch and the place really smelt awful like people had spilt champagne / booze all over the floor and seats the night before and no-one had bothered to clean it up. This was the fatal flaw that could not be redeemed.

I won't rush back any time soon

What a great place!!! I would thoroughly recommend this place for an all round good night out. I was slightly reticent having read other reviews, but the comments about service just did not apply when we were there.

We went on 14th December for my birthday so it was packed for Christmas, but there was a dj and dance floor which was fantastic. The service was quick and the waiter did everything possible to keep our food costs (as there were 11 of us) within our budget.

I'm not a great tapas fan so would never mark this type of food high but we chose the venue for everything else it had to offer. We went for mixed platters but I would have liked to have tried the main meals.

Definitely would recommend!!

Meza was a real disapointment. This is not real tapas in my view. The menu was limited - not what proper tapas should be.

The fish choice was stark how about some prawns sauteed and sizzling in olive oil, fresh garlic and hot Spanish guindilla peppers - thats mouth watering. We ordered the the chicken wings which to me were just cooked in oil. How about chicken wings marinated with garlic and paprika or skewers of chicken and red peppers marinated with spices.

Needless to say I will not recommend this restaurant or use it ever again.

This was our first experience of Tapas and our relatives booked the Meza. Unfortunately, this was not a good experience & we’ve been told not to judge Tapas on the food we encountered on Friday night as it did not resemble “true Tapas” in any shape or form – other than being a truly pretentious rip off. We can guarantee that no-one from our party will be returning to the Meza any time shortly. £20.00 for a pitcher of Sangria was a complete waste of good cash – the pitcher was smaller than a water jug. We appreciate that the idea of Tapas is small portions but we think the Meza have carried this to it’s limits. Scallops that no larger than the size of new 5 pence piece are not what we would call Queen Scallops. Overall the food was a real disappointment & we left hungry!!!! The atmosphere was that of a night club we found it very difficult to hold a basic conversation over the duff duff music – not what I’m looking for when out for a good meal – needless to say we didn’t find it at Meza!!! Overpriced!!! Pretentious food & not a true reflection of real tapas!!

This place was a huge disappointment mostly because of its staff. It is so unprofessional that it cannot even give a normal advise, seems like they do not bother to learn their own rules and menu. We had to wait for simple tapas more than an hour! Their excuse was that they are understaffed that particular night. During the time we were waiting for the food, the waitress was trying to kick us from our table because so many new customers wanted to sit, even though I had reserved our table and we could not even start eating! At the end, the bill was wrong, they counted more food than was ordered. Will never go there again and do not recommend you to spoil your mood there!

Meza – bit of a disappointment. I always get a bit sniffy paying £6 for a G&T but some places are worth it. Sadly Meza isn’t.

The usual gripes: slow service (to the point of having to stop conversations so we can all concentrate on getting the waitstaffs’ attention) and, maybe I got the wrong end of the stick and it’s a nightspot that does a full menu of food on the side, but it’s just a bit annoying to have to bellow over the doof doof music while having your dinner.

But the main thing was the food was below par. I know tapas are meant to be small, but frankly we ordered eight between three, plus a starter of bread and two sides of maize snacks and it really wasn’t enough. Then the food was just a bit blah… the least spicy chorizo this side of a Harvester Inn, Co-op own style tiny meatballs that came in the same sauce (Chicken Tonight I think) as the patatas bravas – of which there were maybe five or six small chips where this is the one tapas dish you can rely on to provide a bit of padding.

And – it was freeeeezing – soooo not good. So not going back.
