Just about average food, HOPELESS service.

We went on a quiet Saturday lunchtime, 4 adults and 2 children.

The adult food was just ok. The steak pie was supposed to come with chips but arrived with mash. When asked about it, the waitress made a dismissive joke about "oh they change things all the time, but it's all potato isn't it". We had to insist to send it back. (When you order chips, you want chips!). Our veg side order never arrived.

The kids food was pretty horrible. (How can you get tomato pasta so wrong?) One of our not-usually-fussy kids didn't like it, and the waitress offered to swap it for something else. We happily agreed, ordered a child's fish and chips instead and she took the pasta away. Problem solved, we thought.

Five minutes later, the same waitress came back and told us she'd have to charge us for it as well as paying for the original tomato pasta WHICH SHE'D ALREADY TAKEN AWAY UNEATEN?! Meanwhile, all the adults have almost finished their food and one hungry child is still waiting.

Another member of staff came over and asked if everything was alright, and I explained the problem (nicely). He looked blankly at us. As we were having a quiet lunch with friends, I gave up at that point without a major argument and paid double for mediocre children's food.

Rubbish. We would never go back. The staff really couldn't be bothered if we had an enjoyable experience or not.
