The Prince

As I Stokey resident I go to the Prince quite often either for a quiet drink in the weekdays or have dinner there as a lovely treat. The food is fabulous with many exciting and tasty specials. The staff are friendly and there is always a great atmosphere.
Lately the range of drinks has been expanding and you can buy lovely ciders (1 organic) and organic fruit juices too. mmm....
The Sunday roast is a must - don't miss it!!!

This pub is starting to look really shabby now having been overshadowed by The Londesborough and other decent pubs springing up in the area. Came here for dinner a few weeks ago only to be told that the kitchen was too busy and that we couldn't place an order. We were told we 'might' be able to put an order in at 9.55pm despite the fact that the kitchen closes at 10. By the time, they decided we could place an order, most of the items on the menu had been crossed off and we decided to go elsewhere. Really poor service. Won't be going back.

Possibly the most arrogant service ever received in a pub. Went at 9.30pm on a Saturday night. Ordered the drink at the top of their black board (choice of 3) and they had sold out. Ordered Stella. They had sold out. Bloke ordered London Pride and paid by card (min £10) and then told that they had sold out. Ordered Vodka and Cranberry and they had sold out of Cranberry. Ordered nibbles (crisps, nuts, olives, ANYTHING!!!) but they had sold out. Impossible to spend more than £10 for two rounds if it's just two of you. Tried to speak to the manager but he did not want to listen to the issues and practically placed the blame on the consumer for bothering to stay in the pub. Horrrendous customer service from a pub that can't even sell you a pint of Stella on a Saturday night. Would never go again despite a review saying they have a good music quiz.

Not usually a fan of gastro-pubs, but this was my third visit and I can guarantee a fourth. This plae manages to keep up there with the very best fooderies and still manages to host the best pub quiz in London....and I'm not even local to Stoke Newington ! Well worth a try even if you have to travel.
