Madisons

Our family (2 adults, 3 teenagers) recently visited this restaurant while visiting London on a budget. We had the £9.99 three course meal and were not disappointed.

There was a choice of about three starters, five mains and five desserts; extra vegetables were £3.95 and a side salad £2.95. Our waitress kindly advised that the salad was generous and would be enough for two to share, which it was, it also came with a good selection of dressings. The vegetables made a generous portion for one, but would also have served two at a stretch.

We were given a basket of delicious warmed rolls after we had ordered, and more were offered.

The meals themselves were tasty, well presented and imaginative. I had worried that the portions would be small and my two ever-hungry teenage boys would be moaning there wasn't enough but we all left completely full!

Our total bill came to £75, this included 3 soft drinks (not charged double!), a glass of wine and a beer. The service was wonderful and not included in the bill.

I was not impressed at all with this restaurant. Their staff messed up my reservation on 3 occasions. The third time, I had my partner with me and I was completely embarrassed to be turned away at the door. To add to this, I was forward to the carnaby where upon my arrival I was asked if I had come for an interview! Further there was absolutely no discretion regarding the prices. All in all, my Valentine's Day dinner was completely ruined this year.

The atmosphere was nice and relaxing, especially with the Live music.

For a 3 course menu at 9.99 was good. Shame about the quality of the food. Would not say it was justifed for its normal price of 19.95.

Also, watch out, they double charge on soft drinks!

Great place to go if you want to feel a bit special and POSH for not much money.

Their 9.99 offer for 3 Courses is great, although at the end you never end up paying 9.99 per head

2 of us went there yesterday and at the end we ended up spending 30 Pounds (we didnt order any alcoholic drinks otherwise would have been much more).

But still for 15 per head I felt quite good, its good value for money and you can surely impress someone specially when they find out how much you spent. But for practical reasons best not to tell them ow much you paid (if you on a dat or something, THEY NEVER CAN GUESS!)

2 negatives though:

1. the menu is very limited, you can choos 1 starter, main course and dessert from a choice of 3 (although they are not a bad selection, but I really think you should have more options)

2. the main course doesn’t come with any vegetables and the vegetables should be paid separately ( I think it was 3.50 each dish). I really though for a restaurant of that level they should have added the vegetables anyway.

But overall my experience was above average and I think most probably I will visit that place again.

This is amazing value, and really sumptuous dining. I cannot recommend it highly enough. You may be suspicious that you can get a 3 course meal in a posh part of London for £9.99 via lastminute.com. Don't be (suspicious).

The food is fab, and the bill is still great value even with a bottle of vino. What a wonderful restaurant.

Beats all the rip off joints which charge an arm and a leg. Go. You won't be disappointed.

What an amazing find. Value doesn't get better than this. Fantastic food, cooked, served and presented perfectly and with such great ambience too and all for £9.99. You can't help wondering how do they do it? I'm certainly glad they do.

I will definately be returning again and again...

I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant. Me and my husband had a meal here with the 3 courses for £9.99 offer. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was really nice. The food was beautifully presented and very tasty ( be aware that you have to pay extra for vegetables). All in all a very good experience.

Wow !! My fiance and I had a great time here. My Salmon with tomato jam and baby potatoes and the vegetables were cooked to perfection!! and I had the best chocolate brownie I've ever had in my life!! It was devine ! A comfortable atmosphere, great service, live music. We will definately go back!

My friend and I went to Madisons on Monday evening for the Special Offer. We were early so had drinks in the bar. At the allocated time we were promptly seated.

I must say the service was impeccable. We were very well attended to without feeling constantly watched. We chose a table with a sofa which was a great idea. All cutlery and glasses were sparkling and the waiter happily repositioned the set up to provide for our needs.

The menu choices were not overwhelming but were varied enough. The food was well presented and delivery perfectly timed. The service flowed and we were able to relax and chat away without feeling disrupted.

For us it was the desserts that made the meal. Vanilla cheesecake and treacle sponge both too good to be true. We shall definitely be returning when we have worn the calories from the desserts off!

All in all a most enjoyable evening.
