Trattoria Italiana Biagio

I took 7 of my friends to Trattoria Italiano Biagio for my friends birthday. We got lost finding the resteraunt, not realising just how close it was to Charing Cross Station - very conveinient! The resteraunt decoration was delightfully quirky, the real Italian experience. The service was fast and the waitors were delightful. The food was delicious, i would recommend the Carbonara. All in all it came to £24 each, including 3 bottles of wine, very good value for money! I would recommend Biagio to anyone.

I ate here yesterday evening with my husband and it was really bustling, which seemed promising. We were shown to our table, which was placed about 6 inches from the next table - hence a very undignified squeeze to my seat. I noticed that all of the tables were similarly uncomfortably cramped.
While ordering from the menu, we were brought some unrequested olives and a basket of 4 small squares of slightly-stale bread. Obviously, the assumption was that these would be complimentary; I was aggrieved to see we'd be charged £2.40 for the (plain and nasty) bread when the bill came. There seems to me to be something deceitful about this practice.
That aside, I wouldn't bother with Biagio anyway. Although our starters were decent enough (if poorly-presented, in the case of my paté), our main courses were, at best, mediocre. I had a seafood pasta; the portion and quality of seafood was satisfactory, but the dish was far too oily and over-salted. The chef had also been over-zealous with the salt in my husband's mushroom risotto. He proclaimed the first few mouthfuls delicious, but quickly changed his mind after a few bites.
There are too many good places to eat in Central London for me to bother with Biagio again!

In a word "awful", which includes everything, from the food to the service. Firstly I was given the cover charge bread, which was stale also was clearly reused, as one piece was already buttered. I then ordered the Clams for starter, which took ages. When the finally arrived it was like a really bad ready meal. For the main course I had the Dover Sole, which was so overcooked, it actually was like eating a sole of a old boot. I would recomend no one to visit this restarant. No need to go on, just read the other bad reviews.

Leave this one for the tourists. We were hungry and tired, so figured this place would do. I wish we'd kept walking.
Service completely inattentive - had to attract attention so that we could order. I ended up helping myself to the ubiquitous Black Pepper from the waiter stand, which was the only time they reacted with any kind of haste at all! Practically had to stand up and wave my arms about to attract waiting staff at all, one of whom did not speak enough english to be able to help with my request.
Food mediocre at best. Wine nasty. Overpriced tourist trap. Keep walking, people!

Ate here recently with a group of mates, the service and ambience was superb. The food I could not fault, my peppercorn steak was cooked to perfection. Some strange reviews, but I guess everyone has their own opinion.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who has a love of Italian food and a warm and buzzing environment.

Fab fab fab place! Wonderful food, excellent service, mega highly recommended. How strange that lady complained about the pizza when they don't have pizza on their menu, she must have mistaken the restaurant!!

Visited this restaurant with some friends before going to the theatre. Found the food and service to be impeccable and was shocked to see the earlier reviews. Would definetely recommend to all my friends, a fun and enjoyable restaurant to visit.

I had read all the bad reviews of this place and still decided to risk it - purely because it was so close to the theatre and there aren't many other places in the immediate area.
I wish we'd had gone a bit further afield, this place really was completely awful. The staff are miserable, the atmosphere is drab and the food is basically no better than a cheap microwave meal.
You really are better off eating in a Garfunkels than in here. Avoid at all costs.

Very disappointed. We went in here on the off chance after the theatre. It looked nice, with a pretty average, reasonably priced menu.
My homemade ravioli were OK - but felt as though they had been microwaved with hard edges (and the dish arrived suspiciously quickly). However, the accompanying sauce (tomato and cream) definitely had that pre-bought tomato flavour (preservatives?) - almost like ravioli sauce from a tin.
My girlfriend's carbonara looked more inviting, but that IMO was stodgy with fatty bits of under cooked bacon.
Bill was therefore steep at £38 for a shared starter, two mains and two glasses of wine.
