So many mixed reviews of this pub here. Well, I live nearby and have been many times. I go here because its big comfy sofas and the park outside make it a lovely space to hang out in.

But.

The food is not good. I wish it was better but it isn't. Chips are oven chips heated up. Bread is likewise heated up frozen baguettes. Bisto gravy etc etc. The fact is that everything is pre-prepared off site. I know because I see the Brakes pub food lorry pull up outside there every week.

If the Landseer sorted out their food it could really be one of the best pubs in London.

Most disappointing Sunday lunch in a long time. Food tasteless and poor presented, when we mentioned this to staff we were told it was 'busy'. On the plus side the banoffee pie was very good. Real shame as this place used to be a favourite of mine but wouldn't bother going again

My my what a great Sunday Lunch I had. The atmosphere in this pub is really friendly and the service was superb. Its not often I go to pubs but this one is a one off deal - a hidden gem behind all the bustle and grustle on Holloway Road.

I really don't like pubs but was forced to go here by my friend and I have to say it was a lovely place to socialise and eat. The decor is really classy but yet the vibe very relaxed. The waitress was very patient (as I am quite indecisive when choosing food!) and very attentive to our needs. The pub was quite busy when we went on a Sunday lunchtime but we were never rushed.

I had the chicken Sunday Roast which was succulent and full of flavour. I also ordered the cheesecake for desert which was huge! Amazing value for money.

I would definitely go again.

I love the Landseer pub and keep going back for more! There is a new menu now and the rack of lamb with rosemary sauce is amazing - you have to try it!

The service is good and geninue. The atmosphere is so relaxed. Such a lovely place to be with leather sofa's on one side and glass ceiling conservory on the other - not many pubs like this!

I was so pleasantly surprised when I visited the Landseer pub, I didn't expect the food to be so good. I ordered the chicken escalope with stuff spinach and peppers and it was lovely. You are given complimentary warm bread to dip in oil and vinegar as soon as you sit down at the table which is a nice touch.

The atmosphere is lovely, you could spend all day there - there is a lovely fireplace with books to read and board games to play. Nice to see pubs like this!

I'm going to get straight to the point: DO NOT EAT HERE. Before visiting The Landseer, I checked some reviews on this site. Very stupidly, I chose to ignore the negative reviews, thinking they'd be written by local competitors. What a mistake.

The food at The Landseer is some of the worst I've ever tasted and is UNBELIEVABLY EXPENSIVE for what it is. The place lures you in under false pretences because it has such lovely decor and relaxed atmosphere.

We went on a Sunday to have the roast lunch- hands down, the worst roast of my life: frozen mixed vegetables, tiny Aunt-Bessie's Yorkshire pudding, the "roast" potatoes were actually boiled and deep-fried, horrible meat (probably from frozen, definitely not cooked fresh) and tasteless gravy. In fact, everything was completely tasteless! I used so much salt and pepper, and still it was disgusting. My partner had the polenta (veggie roast option) which had clearly been "char-grilled" somewhere other than Holloway, frozen, then defrosted in the kitchen at The Landseer.

For starters we'd ordered pea and mint soup - it was so watery and again, had no taste whatsoever. Seriously, who the hell cooked that rubbish? My partner had spinach and feta crostinis to start...apparently they tasted OK.

I'm not a big drinker so can't comment on their alcoholic offerings, but when it comes to meals, this place is for people who enjoy eating terrible food and love being ripped off whilst their at it. It's such a shame because the residents of Holloway could use somewhere for a nice Sunday roast. I think I'll stick to Amazon cafe on Holloway Road...no frills, but half the price of the Landseer and tastes lush.

We went here on Saturday and I must say I really wasn't that impressed with the food.

They have two menus, a tapas menu and a standard three course gastro pub menu, plus above the bar is a list of some various bar snacks they do (BBQ ribs, chicken wings, nachos etc). I ordered two items from the tapas menu initially, some patatas bravas and croquettes de jamon. Price wise I thought this was pretty good value - each tapas dish is three quid. The patatas bravas were okay despite the massive dollop of sour cream on the top which I personally despise, but the ham croquettes were ridiculous. You would think that a ham croquette would actually contain some ham! And the batter tasted exactly like fish fingers, usually no bad thing but I didn't order fish fingers. Later on I ordered some nachos, which were okay but seemed to contain absolutely no cheese at all, which I would have considered a fairly integral part of the dish. Some others ordered the steak, which looked okay and was served with some really lovely looking bread, and the fish and chips looked reasonable but maybe not for £11.

Overall, I might give some of the other tapas dishes a bash but overall I wouldn't go back.

Went to the Landseer with a few friends for Sunday roast and it was the best meal I had in ages!!!

Their Yorkshire puddings are delicious and instead of going for the meat I tried the vegetable polenta. Oh it was amazing!!! Plenty of gravy too, which is nice and the vegetables on the side were also yummy.

Service was really good and fast, would definately go again for a roast dinner or maybe during the week when I think they do tapas?

Like someone else said it is a little more expensive than other pubs but it's true that you get what you pay for!
