A big thank you to all the staff at The Landseer for making my birthday party the best ive had in years!

It was the first time i'd visited the Landseer, though not the last!

The food and service were second to none, what a lovely gastro pub hidden away just off the holloway road.

We will be back again for some more of those fantastic cocktails and those ever so yummy desserts.

Thanks again for a wonderful evening!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have just spent the perfect sunday at the Landseer. Started with coffee and a read of the papers, and moved on to a sublime roast beef with winter veg and home made Yorkshire pud, with a bloody Mary to wash it down. Chocolate fondant and another coffee to finish.

I love the fact that you can come here on your own, or bring the whole family (at last 3 families when i was there) and you get looked after like you are in someones home.

A great experience and not cheap but good value for money. You expect good food at these prices and you get great cooking of excellent ingredients. Well done to the owners for creating such a nice place.

Ate here last night and had one of the best meals of recent memory. Simple, flavourful cooking showing a respect for ingredients!

I started with the raisin and polenta cake which was light and fluffy. My friend said his clam chowder was powerful and tasty. Then sea bream cooked to perfection, with green beans al dente and a perfectly judged rocket sauce. My friend's steak was apparantly cooked just as he likes it.

We were recommended the fleurie, a nice light red and were served with such charm that we really felt like we were in our waiter's home. A thoroughly enjoyable experience and one i hope to repeat again soon.

After eating here at the weekend i decided to venture out mid week to try the new restaurant menu, i was really surprised how good it was. I had the ( pan fried monkfish tail served on a potato rosti with crayfish pate and roquette pesto ) excellent to say the least and really priced well. My partner had chargrilled sirloin steak on wilted spinach with veal jus and fat chips. We both had chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream for dessert. The Landseer opens its new restaurant this week, and the waitress told us that theres a new kitchen team in place hence the food being so good, overall an excellent visit, and value for money.

Visited the said pub this Sunday for a roast dinner after hearing that the food was good. The menu was a good selection of brunch classics, with three roasts. Great taste and served quickly, though without a smile from the waitress, who didnt seem that bothered with our group.

value for money and plently of choice.

Overall good lazy sunday at the Landseer.

I have lived near the Landseer for about 6 years now, and agree that the food has been so hit and miss over the last few years. That SEEMS to be a thing of the past, and about time too!!!

They have changed the menu, and over the last few weeks i have been in for food a few times. Spot on!!! Is there a new chef? Keep it up cos i was sick of having to walk up to 15 minutes for a decent feed.

Once again I gave the food here a go! Why? Just in case. Can confirm it is as bad as ever. Indeed Terrible. Also very very dirty in there these days, tables not cleared or wiped and the loos are filthy and often out of loo roll.

I have lived near the Landseer for 10 years and seen it turn from a local to a gastro under it's various management. It should be such a lovely pub, and in ways it is, being light and airy. However, the food is TERRIBLE. So EXPENSIVE and I'm sure the cooks have no training. Also why the dining room - it's just the pub tables laid out - with terrible attempts at service. Also when full way too smokey.

This is one of our locals and we visit at least onmce a month. the food is usually reasonable although definitely on the pricey side for what you get. Service could almost always be better. We visited the Sunday just gone and it was absolutely farcical. We waited an hour for food, they got our order wrong, when it did arrive it was missing the key ingredients and the slimy brown lettuce as a garnish ..well, say no more. Most of the staff seemed to be lacking in both the politeness and common sense departments. Really really disappointing as it's a lovely pub. To be fair they did end up offering us a complimentary meal but it spoilt a nice Sunday outing and I wont rush to go back.

As a local I have used the Landseer several times. The atmosphere is nice, drink choices ok (but expensive). The food isn't always good, is ALWAYS expensive, and I've often left there feeling ripped off. They change the menu every now and then and it varies. Sunday lunches are pretty good, but over priced. The service is pretty good, but the landlord is snooty. Overall it's just not as good as it thinks it is...
