I have been there with few friends. The place offers a warm and wellcoming atmosphere. With its old venecians paintings this is one of the oldest restaurant in Soho and a true taste of Italy. Service is excellent it is ideal to go before or after theatre. The menu is full of nice surprises. A must are the starters of prawns a real delicatessence.

I have taken both client and friendw to this warm and friendly place. Service is excellent and the quality of food outstanding. In the heart of Soho this is the ideal Italian reastaurant to go for a real taste of Italy.

Strongly reccomende the tiger prawns starters. Go and try by yourself a real delicatessence.

I have been there on both client dinners and with friends very good compromise. Atmosphere is both informal but service is impeccable.

I appreciated the food and strongly reccomend the amazing fish starters.

I am very surprised by some of the good reviews here. I suppose sometimes you strike lucky...we didn't!

It was the night before my wife and I celebrated our 1st anniversary together and we decided on the spur of the moment to go into soho. She wanted a nice little Italian place and when I saw the name, I thought that this would be quality. Well assumption is a bad idea.

We ordered the following to start:

Parma ham with pears (wife) this was delicious.

Sliced air cured meat (me) instead was served crab salad and then ignored, wouldn't normally mind as quite like crab, but this was tasteless and full of shell.

We ate and had wine with our starters and I looked forward to the main course....this arrived 45 minutes later. I was expecting, perhaps unreasonably, that this meant that they were taking time and care over my dinner. Unfortunately not. We ordered the following:

Clam Linguine (wife) not bad more uncooked than al dente but that's life.

Lobster Ravioli (me) for the price I was appalled by what arived. 7 (yes I counted) small pieces of Ravioli, in a tasteless sauce with what tasted like tinned lobster filling.

We paid our £80 bill for starters main course and wine for two and left for spaghetti ice cream on Charing Cross Road. This helped to cool me down. I was absolutely fuming! I will never eat there again!!!

What on earth has happened to this restaurant. Without a doubt my favorite place to eat in the capital.......I returned there after a couple months away and the menu has changed utterly for the worst.

The staff seem to have been packed off to Chinatown for a crash course in rudeness and the wonderful owner (Nino) seems totally depressed.

Its hard to believe that someone could get rid of such a perfect menu and replace it with a laminated sheet with nothing of any interest or imagination on offer.

Previously the best 10 out of 10 in town, now a 0 because there is no lower option.

I've eaten here a couple of times in the last month. Both times the food has been excellent and the service very good.

Lovely little restaurant. My main of salmon with lobster bisque and spinach was very rich and heavy, but delicious none the less. Its more about the atmosphere really, there were no glances at watches when we'd finished and decided to stay for a bit, and we got some lovely limoncellos. Very friendly and warm.

I reserved a table for my friend's birthday and was pleased when the owner remembered her name and went out of his way to make her feel special. The food was delicious and the staff very attentive.

We went to Signor Zilli to celebrate our anniversary and were a little concerned when we walked into an empty ordinary looking restaurant. However, the service was excellent and the food was superb. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anybody.

Despite our booking and telephoned confirmation they weren't expecting us. But, no problem, we can eat in spelndid isolation in the dingy basement instead of the pleasant upstairs restaurant. The food was rather heavy although my sea bass was very fresh and beautifully cooked. The problem came when my wife visited the lavatory. It was dilapidated and filthy. Nothing to dry hands on except some dirty used tissues on a table. When she complained to the waiter that we were surprised the great Aldo would run a place like this, he didn't apologise but said Zilli didn't run it; it was franchised out. Overall a disappointing restaurant trading on a borrowed reputation.
