One word to describe Emile's - perfect. Fantastic and inventive dishes, varying from venison to pigeon and halibut to sea bass. Very reasonably priced for the quality of cuisine. Service is great, and atmosphere is lovely. The sort of place that would suit a romantic meal for 2 or a group of friends and, thanks to its location away from the High Street, it still feels like a hidden gem and manages to retain its charm.

I arrived at Emiles with the knowledge that I was about to eat from a set menu and armed with the expectation that the menu would be boring and the food bland. It was quite the opposite! The set menu is composed of an interesting choice of dishes, with exciting ingredients for all tastes. I started with the Stilton and Celery Souffle (fluffy and light) with White Wine Beurre Blanc (tingled my taste buds!). After a recommendation by the chef of the Venison Pie, I dived in and to my delight it was incredibly tasty and the spinach and red wine sauce accompanied it perfectly! The service was excellent and the homely atmosphere made a nice change to the impersonal restaurants I'm used to. Give Emiles a try, you won't regret it!

Emile's is quite simply, wonderful. I had tried to book a table through the internet the night before I flew from Spain to the UK for the weekend in late September. Little did I know I had a return e-mail the next day saying it was full.

I turned up at the supposed time, only to be told the news. However, Emile squeezed myself and my girlfriend in. The food was superb, the service excellent

We visited Emiles on Friday 1st September and had a fantastic evening. When we arrived at 7.30, it was empty but by 8.30, it was full and it was not hard to understand why. The chef took the time to come and explain the menu to us. The waitresses were equally helpful. The food did not disappoint. It is a largely French menu and is very reasonable priced, as is the wine. Can't believe it's taken us so long to try this place and we will definitley be going back.

Emiles is just superb and never fails to impress. I had a fantastic meal last Saturday night the highlight being the Individual Beef Wellington whic was just equisite.

Another highlight has got to be the Fine Wine list which offers excellent wines with bottle age at fantastic prices; where else in London would you get Cos d'Estournel 1999 at £48.00 a bottle. With prices at this level you are always going to be sorely tempted to trade up.

This restaurant is an gem in the London Restaurant scene and I would urge everybody to make the journey down to Puney to check it out.

I ate at Emiles last Tuesday, yet another fantastic meal.

I discovered Emiles about 8 years ago - and have eaten there about 8 times - I wish it was more. The food is fantastic, almost as good as Emile's ability as a restaurateur. Despite my annual visits, he always remembers my name - my wife even booked the table in my first name this time, but he was not caught out. He knows his menu and wine list inside out and will passionately describe every dish on the menu, before you order. The food is superb and Emile will also give you hints on how to fully enjoy it - advising me to try the end of the King Prawn tails for their crunchiness and flavour - he was right - I can still taste them two days later.

The wine list is superb - no rip-off overpriced plonk here - my £12.50 bottle is available by the case on the internet for £7 a bottle - he's not even marking it up by 100%. No obligatory 10% added to the bill either - service is optional. I just wish I lived on the doorstep...... Highly Recommended.

My parent's have visited this place 3 times in the last month (it's that good!!) and last week I joined them with my boyfriend. I had an amazing evening. Emile is a fantastic host, extremely welcoming and does his best to make everybody feel special. There is a wonderfully relaxed ambience about the place but the attention is certainly not relaxed. All the waiting staff were incredibly attentive, checking on us regularly (without being too overbearing) to make sure we had enough wine, water, bread and so on. The choice of food changes by the month and everything is always seasonal and fresh. They do a superb set menu - either 2 or 3 courses for a very reasonable price of £19.50 or £22.50 respectively. The food is superb, I ordered a wonderful cheese soufflé which was as light as a feather followed by swordfish which was again, absolutely delicious. The general consensus around the table was an overwhelming 10 out of 10. The wine list is impressive, starting at a very reasonable £11.50 for house wine progressing to a separate menu for the 'fine wine' lovers. We opted for a delicious Sancerre priced at £18.95. Although we couldn't quite manage a pudding the list was incredibly tempting. My boyfriend and father opted for cheese with a glass of port but the treacle tart and the sticky ginger and date pudding looked simply to die for.

If you're in the Putney area then definitely make Emiles your first choice for dinner - you definitely won't be disappointed.

Fantastic food and very attentive service – Highly recommended.

I was introduced to Emiles a few years back and can confidently say this is by far the best value for money in London having dinned in Michelin star restaurants way down to the Stock Pot/Lido.

Emiles has very good menu with an owner who really cares about the wine he chooses to compliment the superb food. At around £22 for 3 courses it feels unbelievably equal to the likes of Gordon, but maybe not Raymond. It’s the kind of place you want to keep a secret so you can always get a booking, but if you love food you’ve got to try this place.

They also offer part-cooked meals with simple instructions for you to finish the cooking at home - ideal if you can’t get a booking, and this went down a storm as a very late idea last Valentines day.

Highly recommended.
