We had a fantastic evening on a Friday on the Groupon deal. The food was hot and tasty and deserts were really yummy. The only thing was there were 2 beef dishes for the main course and 1 fish and 1 veg. It would have been nice to have had a chicken option. Never the less it was good.

The waitress was excellent and very attentive to our drinks and demands.

As always, the music and entertainment was outstanding! We had the best table in the house and weren't asked to move when we had finished our meal.

A top night at Guanabara and would reccomend it to all ages!

We definitely had a great night here and was very different to our normal nights out! Thoroughly enjoyed the music and the dancing, along with the samba drums...great atmosphere!

We didn't eat in the end, we only had drinks, which I did find were quite expensive but I guess they were normal central London prices...so would only really come if we were having a big night out,

We had a table but had no table service, but we were right by the bar anyway so this wasn't much of a problem.

Overall, great birthday night out! Thank you!

There was nothing about this place that makes me want to return. The food was a complete rip-off. The vegetarian platter - £17.50 for a medium sized plate with a sliced vegetable, some small cubes of cheese, a few nuts and a dollop of salad taking up most of the plate.

What the hell is salad doing on a sharing platter? As I said, a complete rip off.

The venue itself is dingy and dirty, terrible DJ music played too loud with the 'dancing' more like an aerobics class than anything else.

I would rather stay in and pull out my own teeth that go back to this dump and I hope it closes down soon.

I'm not just disappointed, I'm angry that places like this are spoiling what is a great city.

Went on a Groupon offer and was not impressed.

It is a restaurant, but the volume of the music is that of a club so that I had to shout all night to talk to my girlfriend (still have a sore throat today!).

The food was really average. The "Brasilian" sausage, consisted in a chopped up German sort of sausage with a few toothpicks (classy!). No accompainment or anything.

We ordered a portion of pao de queijo (cheese bread) which was obviously made a few days earlier as it could double as a door stopper!

My girfriend asked if she could have the fries INSTEAD of the rice with her dish, the waiter said "no problem". Needless to say that the dish came with rice and no signs of chips. She asked for them and the waiter just added them to the bill as extra!

I had the steak which was the only thing I really enjoyed in the evening.

The dessert was a chocolate number which was really really heavy. Came with a slob of thick double cream on top of it which made it almost inedible. I think it was probably the first time in my life I could not finish a dessert!

Service was really slow and unattentive. We asked for the bill and the waiter just forgot completely about us. We had to stand up and make for the door for him to realise that unless he was bringing the bill we would have walked. When we saw he charged us for the chips, we curtailed his discretionary service charge.

very poor quality of food, very over-priced and small portions. Really lovely waiting staff but desperately over worked and under staffed

WOW! WOW! WOW! What a fantastic place to go to celebrate any special occasion. Guanabara, London is the perfect venue to be when you want to have a fabulous time. We were there to celebrate our friend’s 50th birthday and from the moment we entered, they treated us like VIPs. The service, the food, the entertainment and the Mojito’s were all first class. Check out the amazing new menu, lovely food, Ribeye to die for !!! We showed the world that you can be fifty and fabulous! We are already planning our next visit. Huge thanks to everyone at Guanabara.

when you look at the website it seems like a really fun place, unfortunately this great venue is very badly managed.

they are understaffed and work them too hard that's why you get a very poor treatment from them and they apear to be rude and unhelpful as they are under so much pressure.

on top of the poor service system the food and drinks are very low quality.

Filthy run down venue. exceptionally rude staff. we waited nearly one hour to be served half priced water down cocktails. The food was microwaved overheated and very bad. unorganised service. water flooded the unused second bar..low hard wooden picnic benches to eat the withered salad served and horrendous food..the dance class was ok. but venue is the pits. the place is a health and safety - walk in hazzard and shambles. I predict this hell hole will be closed down in 6 months

I visited the restaurant for my birthday with my boyfriend, I was highly disappointed. The food was bland. My steak was tough, the chips were stale and my boyfriend's stew was tasteless and lacked meat. Service was very slow and a member of staff even noted at the end of the meal that they had received a lot of complaints about the quality of the food. I would never return, total waste of money. I'd be happier at McDonalds.

I went in a party a couple of weeks ago and was really disapointed - the food had that corporate, chain pre-preared feel and was pretty medicore. The cocktails were fine - especially the caipirinhas, but overall, only average value and service not great either
