I live not far from Yoshi Sushi and it has become one of my favourite restaurants. The food is very good and the service fantastic. Very high standard compared with other japanese restaurants in London.

"Yoshi Sushi" is another one of those local restaurants that really makes you happy to live in W6! Every time we decide to go the food, service and attention to detail is impeccable!
We arrived last night and were promptly greeted by the friendly, accommodating staff and immediately thereafter seated at an already well-prepared table (menus included). The waiter returned some 5 minutes later to take our orders, but as usual with Japanese food, it takes us a bit longer to make up our minds so we asked for a few more minutes. Another 5 minutes we by and our drinks were served. We then had a few questions regarding food preparation etc. All of our queries were quickly and politely answered and we were able to order feeling reassured that we were in for another feast.
Everything - from the fried tempura (prawn & vegetable) and buttered scallops to the rich assortment of sushi - arrived beautifully-presented and each course almost as quickly as the previous one.
I highly recommend this Japanese/ Korean restaurant... the quality and freshness of the food on a par with Nobu and its sisters... without the somewhat exorbitant price.

Having lived in Japan for 4 years, it is great to find an excellent restaurant such as this that really gives me the 'home cooking' I have missed since returning to the UK.
Along with another restaurant in the W6 area, Yoshi Sushi has become one of the regular Friday night, straight from work haunts of my fiancee and I. I even took her mother there and, for a woman with alleged conservative tastes in food, a second helping of the gyoza (pork dumplings) and hotate tobiko ae (raw scallops with roe) is testimony to the quality of the food in my book.
Aside from the food, the service is always impecable. It is very pleasant to be welcomed so heartily by long-serving staff who now know us, although this may be because of the vast amounts of food and sake we generally consume; something that can cause some of the newer staff who are unprepared for our appitites to do something of a double-take when they read our order back to us.

I read many good reviews of Yoshi Sushi so decided to try it on a Friday evening. The food is absolutely wonderful. We went for one of the set menus which, amongst many courses, included the most delicious, melt in the mouth sashimi we've ever tasted. The Tempura was crisp and light and the Green Tea iced desert was refeshing and a perfect finish. Having said this we did pay over £100 for a mid range set meal and decent bottle of wine. The ambience in the restaurant was dissapointing. Not what I had expected (rather shabby) and it was much smaller than I had envisaged. The ladies toilet was a bit scruffy. Also we arrived quite late (at around 9pm I think) and we didn't feel very welcome once everyone else had left. We ordered the set meal because we were unsure of the menu and not entirely familiar with protocol. But when each course was delivered we weren't really advised on the etiquette, which would have been a nice touch and very helpful. All in all, the food would be the only reason to revisit and I would definately order just a couple of courses from the main menu.

We've been here a few times now which probably tells the story best of all. We take our 1 & 3 yr olds and the staff are always friendly and patient with them. I have travelled extensively in Japan and being from Sydney I'm used to really good Japanese restaurants (there are hundreds in that city) but have found good reasonably priced ones hard to come by in London. This one is an exception. Try some of the set menus which come with a surprising array of small side dishes. Yakatori beef is superb. The sashimi is fresh and delicious, the soups are divine. The atmosphere is of a quiet inexpensive Japanese eating house. Not flash but it feels authentic.

This used to be my local and I had to go here three days in a row when I returned from a business trip in Japan. That's how good it is. The best and best value Shabu Shabu in London.
Now I cross the whole of London happily to come and eat here.
