Fantastic, little gem of a restaurant. The food was fresh, homemade and delicious. Outstanding value for money too.

Great little restaurant in quite a deserted part of town

Highly recommended. The pasta with wild boar was delicious, the service quick and friendly. I was alone and eating early, the restaurant was empty when I arrived but full by the time I left! Delicious food and very reasonable prices.

I have worked less than two minutes walk from this restaurant for years and had never realised it was there until I read the reviews on London-Eating. I went today at lunch for the first time and I will definitely be returning.

There were nine of us in the party and it was a bit cramped on our table in the basement but that is the only minor criticism I have of Cleveland Kitchen.

The food was delicious, the special plus a drink is still £5, a huge pizza and drink is now a massive £6! The wine was perfectly drinkable and a good size glass.

We arrived right as it opened and the place was quickly full. The staff were pleasant and everyone left very happy.

Been to Cleveland Kitchen twice now and it has become a local 'must'.

Excellent value for money and very, very decent food, 'yes'.

Only drawback however is the space - at best cosy, (very) friendly - at worse was afraid I might get pushed off my chair down the stairs, from one of the waitresses squeezing past you.....

The service is friendly but if you're seated downstairs and not in the main upstairs part, you are going to have to wait for your requests to be met.....

Overall though - if you're out for great food and a cosy, inexpensive night, highly recommend Cleveland Kitchen....and the extremely good lamb shank main.

Ate here last night, 5 of us just dropping in unanounced on a Sunday night with some friends from overseas. This is exactly the simple kind of place you hope to stumble across as you just go looking for somewhere decent and inviting to eat, without prior planning, but seldom have such luck. The decor and ambiance are pleasantly homespun, reflected in the very reasonable prices, a comment which thankfully also includes the wines. But the real winner is the excellently prepared food. Italian staples prepared freshly and well executed. Chef doesn't make the mistake of trying too hard and doesn't waste time on superflous frippery. Our table covered risotto, pasta, fish and steak. All were very well received (by a discerning bunch if I may add!) Wish there were more such places and the owner- operators (I would guess) deserve great success.

let me just say one thing:

Lunch time special:

any pizza or main of pasta of the day: £5.00

main of meat of the day: £6.00

2 mains + 1starter: £10.00

this includes ANY DRINK (yes beer or wine too !!!) and a complementary basket with olives, bread, focaccia bread with tomatoes, olive oil (they bake their own bread!)

i don't think you can get this value even in Italy...

Anyways, the food is great, all the ingredients are ordered from Italy and from time to time Luca (the chef and the owner) do some kind of pasta himself (yes that's true) for Lasagna or egg pasta etc etc...

Service is good, Stefania (the other owner and manager) is always quick also when it's really really busy.

The food is well presented in the plates, and the atmosphere is nice. IT'S NOT A BAR-DINER IT'S A REAL RESTAURANT (!!!!)

only high quality dishes, cutlery etc.

It's a must for lunchtimes.

Since i've found it 4 months ago I've never missed a meal at lunchtime (!!!)

At night you don't have the same deals of lunchtime of course, but wine is cheap, and the food is great and still cheap for what you get.

TOP VALUE FOR MONEY (unbelievable)

yes the space is an issue, but....

;-)
