Booked 3 weeks ahead and phoned to confirm a week ago. Yet no record of us on arrival. What's more, staff (who weren't busy) ignored us when we arrived. They had a table though (maybe this says something!) Servers hardly spoke to us during the evening.
Food was OK but rather pretentious. I would have been OK with the food if we had just been made to feel welcome!

I took a friend to dinner there last night and found it very disappointing. I had booked on line and received confirmation of my booking but there was no record of it in the restaurant. However, this was not a problem as one other table was occupied until just before we left at 9.20 when one other foursome arrived. We were seated and given menus but there was a long delay before we were asked if we would like to order a drink. The starters were all right but the main courses poor. My guest's Wild Mushroom Risotto was very long on rice but short on mushrooms and warm rather than hot, while my Lasagne of Haddock on a bed of spinach with poached egg comprised practically cold slices of lasagne as a base, some over-cooked but cool haddock on a bed of acceptable spinach topped by a rock hard poached egg. Despite the fact that the waiters out-numbered the diners, at no stage, either during or at the end of the meal, were we asked if our meal was to our liking. I suspect that they didn't dare invite the answer. After the first glass of wine was poured, we were left to pour our own and when we left we had to go and find our own coats while the waiters stood by. In short, the meal was poor and the service dreadful. The bill for 2 courses one Gin & Tonic and one bottle of house wine came to £100.
